Arab. I agree completely. I've had mammoth debates with different people on here in recent weeks over this.
Yes shaw and Herrera are good signing nosignings
I think we need to sell before we buy and therein lies the problem; too much rubbish that nobody except SAF/Moyes rate.. Who is queuing up to buy Fellaini, Cleverley, Anderson, Nani etc
There's another problem, we've no CL football and that's what the good players are looking for. It's always massive obstacles with this club.
Arab. I complete lye agree. I've had mammoth debates with people on here in recent days / weeks on this subject.
Yes shaw and Herrera are good signings but Woodward had 6 and 12 months to seal these deals. A chimp could have called there clubs on 1st June asked them to name there price and signed the cheque.
The hard work for Woodward started in May when LVG told the club who he wanted. What I want to know is who are these players that Woodward and moyes said were falling over themselves to sign for United and why haven't we signed any yet?
Said it a few months ago. We should have gone for Garay. Would have been a good player in a back 3 and for €6m you can't go wrong. Can't believe he went for that little
Reddevil
Those words do seem odd now, we really need to keep our mouths shut until deals are done, does no one any good.
Boasting about sh-t before it's happened is never a good idea.
The way I see it is that the aim for this season is to make top 4 and with what we have and our new signings we should have enough to do that. Especially with how well Liverpool did with no Europe last season.
Us not being in the CL is probably why no big Names wanna come to us (before people quote occasions where big players went to non cl clubs, it's very possible that the opposite side of that argument is happening)
A front 3 of RvP, Rooney and Mata under LvG should be enough for top 4 and then when we have cl football next season we can spend big on players rather than spend crazy amounts now on players who may not be worth the fee.
A gamble from the club perhaps but with no European distractions I think it's a gamble worth taking.
Would have liked any signings we are going to make to already be wrapped up by this stage. But that's in an ideal world. Our saving grace is that I think that even if we do bring in players at the very last minute of the transfer window, our opening fixtures are such that I expect our current crop of players to be able to handle them. Therefore any new signings wouldn't have the added pressure of being rushed into the first team and expected to perform straight away. Instead, they should be able to be broken into the squad gradually, familiarizing themselves with their new surroundings and teammates first.
Hopefully this factor will help lessen the downside of signing players so late on..but fingers crossed Ed gets the cheque book out though!!
Its not looking great tbh, could see curdarado going to barca as well,de marias well overpriced, hummels wont happen, indi and de vrij gone elsewhere
Come n guys it's boring if we had wrapped up our dealings already.
Exciting/frustrating 3 weeks ahead. Can't wait
You found the Fellaini debacle exciting? I found it nauseating. I don't want the club to go through something like that again.
Then asking Madrid to loan us Coentrao a few minutes after the transfer window shut, and obviously getting rejected.

Well no I didn't. But that's one window out of loads isn't it.
Maybe I just don't panic as much as some
It's the only summer window we have seen Woodward operate, don't forget we also made a desperate £40m for Khedira on the last day too.
We've had months to prepare.
If Woodward does fùck up, I hope Van Gaal baits him out. He wouldn't give a shít, and it'll prove to us that he isn't cut out for this CEO lark.
I know people may not agree, but I really think we could do with a DoF. Most clubs are using them now.
You forgot we made 3 major signings, Van Gaal for 3 years, Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera. Going from Moyes to Van Gaal is like buying Cristiano Ronaldo for free.
Of course the Fellaini signing was exciting. Whether you like the player or not, the last day signings are always exciting. Especially if United are involved. It's always very depressing when we have no involvement in that last day.
Tbf he's been brilliant at everything other than the transfers dealings for us. But sponsors mean little if the team aren't being sorted.
We're a football team first and a business second, sadly I don't think the people in charge see it that way.
Cuardado has asked to leave according to the florentine president. Hope it's Barca again
Barca surely won't buy cuadrado. With their transfer dealings overall they've spent over 60m. Can't see them spending on cuadrado aswell IMO
In what way was the Fellaini transfer exciting? Every time we were in the media concerning Fellaini bids most fans weren't happy at all.
Other teams f-cking up is entertaining, not when it happens to us.
Well in hindsight yes it wasn't exciting. However you can't deny at the time it is exciting when your own team is involved as you are waiting for news to come through
Anyone who was on this site on the last day of the transfer window last summer will remember how exciting it was.
Most people were supportive of the Fellaini signing although most felt the fee too big. It was most certainly exciting with how no one knew if we were gonna a conclude a deal for him and or Coentrao.
