How exactly does FFP affect us without European football?
Fergie used to say no value in the market as his excuse.
We'll considering they signed off on Rooney's £800k per week deal I think we can cover most players demands if we deem them worthy.
I think LVG has taken a little too long to identify what we need and Woodward has probably found it tougher to negotiate deals than he / LVG expected.
"We can spend more than City and Chelsea due to FFP"
This window in particularly. Not so much afterwards.
The monitoring period for Financial Fair Play is over two years- therefore if you do qualify for the Champions League then your finances within that period will be monitored accordingly.
I think it is still the same period- but the FFP rules actually get tougher every two years- or every monitoring period- I believe.

I think our debt had a far greater effect on spending a few years back. Someone the other day stated that back then the debt was taking 70% of our earnings but it's now down to 15% and not far off being paid.

If what yourself saying is right then this window is huge! We need to overpay if that means getting quality in,
we will be having this discussion on 31st August whilst watching Jim White on SSN.
Midnight will pass and nothing will occur. IMO.
I hope you optimists prove me wrong in the next 2 weeks.
Manutd,
Logically, with us and PSG both hamstrung by FFP restrictions, then if I was you, I'd be capitalising on that and the fact that clubs and agents can't use us to drive the price up.
I still reckon you'll get a couple more in though, lots f time left yet.

There's a great little table for the FFP.
Your spending this season will have no impact until the 2016/17 season- but by that point the permitted loss is reduced down to €30m.
Let's get spending then!!'
To buy we have to sell first . We have lots of players on ridiculous money who no one else wants with their personal term demands...Like Fletcher Young Ando Nani Valencia. We have to unload these first to get new players... or go with them till they are out of contract
what is it 3 weeks ?
loads of time
Of course selling is essential but don't let it effect what we can potential bring in, especially during a period where FFP has far less of an effect on our spending and potential quality signing can be made.
We need to be realistic here and accept that big loses may be made on some players. It could in the long run be worth far more than losing a few million now.
FFP is only important for you guys in terms of what it restricts others from doing, it will never curtail your own spending.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2720817/Louis-van-Gaal-praises-Wayne-Rooney-ahead-Manchester-Uniteds-Premier-League-campaign-issues-hidden-warning-forward-s-physical-condition.html
Van Gaal talks to the Mail on Sunday, quotes in that article. Name drops Di Maria and admits he could go for Dutch players.
‘If they are at the level I want them to be, then I will sign Dutch players,’ he states.
‘Dutch players are usually cheaper than players of other nationalities and they have usually been very well educated in the Netherlands, I believe.
‘But they have to be of a level than can play well in the English Premier League. You have to ask yourself if that is the case with every player.’
The di Maria reference is clearly for a reason. He could have easily stated a number of others notably Robben who he has worked with.
PSG have said they're out of the running, real wanna sell, let's not mess this up. Even paying a high fee he'll be worth it.
Wouldn't read to much in the name drop of Di Maria.
LvG: “I have one rule for young players; to get in my team they have to be better than the player they are replacing.”
Is LVG going to break the world transfer record on Di Maria.
If he does he should be taken out and shot at dawn.
Why not?
Why name drop a player and state he would prove the side and who also happens to be available. Combine them with Woodwards comments on money being no issue and marquee signing wanted it would point to di Maria. And if nothing ended up happened you would surely have to question Woodwards words.
I just want us to buy a couple of cheap center backs in there mid twenties. There must be another vidic out there. I remember Kjaer and he is in his mid twenties now and Blind won't mind coming to us if Louis Van Gaal comes knocking.
The rest give Blackett a chance at center back/ left back or play lingard in midfield.
The 2 signings we made were great deals in Herrera and Shaw. Last season we definately overpaid for mata and fellaini as mata barely had any full 90 minutes at chelsea and poor record that half season. Fellaini was ridiculous, we paid more then his release clause and he was never gonna fit the man utd way. Moyes didn't even use his strengths.

It got so bad that Brendan Rodgers was saying what Moyes shouldn't be doing as a rival manager of the opposition especially your bitter rivals being favourites for a match.
Ex everton players are happy that Moyes left and they gone another level breaking points record etc.
Moyes only saving grace was he did ok in champions league and got us some credibility or be it giggs and RVP saved us from humilation.
