Do you now admit that replacing one WC player (quality) with "strength in
depth" (quantity) doesn't mean that you are of equal overall quality?
===
Who said this was not the case? Which Liverpool fan?
Rivals predicted we would fail dismally without Suarez and with the extra games. Lets just wait and see.
Rather than you guys get so defensive and hurl insults at the OP, why not address the valid points he has raised. The only game you looked decent in this season was against Spurs and but for clownish finishing, they should have been a couple of goals up before you scored against the run of play.
For title contenders or according to some of you, title winners in the wings, do you think that is good enough? You have added quantity to your squad not quality.
I cannot think of any top team that would want any one of the players you signed this season or would want any of them in their squads.
You did very well last season but Brendan has let you down with his signings. He signed players you would expect a team like Swansea to sign, not Liverpool
Max, jlou and Mafia - please píss off.

As I said, this is the Liverpool forum, and unlike you, some of us hold fire, or indeed, never spend time posting articles on opposition boards.
Yours is premature, in its evaluation of the situation we are in, or likely to be in come the rest of the season.
You spoke of wild optimism, which was never the case, you talk of players bracketed as quantity, without giving anytime to judge their real quality, so you may as well p!$$ off yourself, and come back in a few months, when your comments might have gained more credence, when we have had the chance to guage the quality, as opposed to the quantity of our new signing, compared to the lose of Luis Suarez.

So why do you find it so difficult to engage in sensible discussion, unlike your esteemed colleagues? Tetchy? Defensive? Upset?
I cant see why everyone is having a god at the op...
He raises a valid point (we were dog crap yesterday and against Aston Vila), and the argument that we are stronger in depth, is nullified by people saying we missed sturridge... how much stronger are we in depth, if we still miss a striker, when we are still playing with a 16mil striker up front, along with a 25mil signing.
Also, someone said something about the atmosphere... i had to turn up the tv to make sure there was anyone there other than cardboard cut outs, cause all i could hear were the ludogorets fans... only time i heard liverpool fans was either if the ref gave a 'wrong' decision and i heard a few moans, or after balotelli scored... talk about "sing when youre winning" rather than the "famous anfield atmosphere".
Now let the abuse begin

So why do you find it so difficult to engage in sensible discussion, unlike your esteemed colleagues? Tetchy? Defensive? Upset?
==================================
There is a sensible response, yet you didnt respond to it.
You dont know the relative qualities of the players we have bought, when trying to compare it to losing Suarez, as you have not given enough time before making anykind of judgment on their ability.
As I said, give a month or two, and we will have the benefit of seeing these players we have brought in perform over a period of time, before we make judgment on them, in comparison to losing Suarez.

So, in your opinion, do you think that the players brought in will have the relative quality to replace the World Class Suarez?
I cant see why everyone is having a god at the op...

Because he expects people to make a valued judgement on life after Suarez, compared to the strengthening of our squad, after four games.
I think it is safe to say none of the players you have bought are of the same quality or ability as Suarez so an initial assessment is possible
So, in your opinion, do you think that the players brought in will have the relative quality to replace the World Class Suarez?

Christ, can you not read, as I have said, maybe half a dozen times, opinions can only be based over a period of time when players have actually had the chance to play, and not after 3 or 4 games.

Exactly my point MUDD
The assertion from many pool fans that quantity is an adequate substitute for quality, I believe to be incorrect which was my point. Some can see this, and agree, others are just defensive.

Think you missed the point completely.
Rather than you guys get so defensive and hurl insults at the OP, why not address the valid points he has raised. The only game you looked decent in this season was against Spurs and but for clownish finishing, they should have been a couple of goals up before you scored against the run of play.
------------------------
Why should we give you a sensible answer when you come up with shiite like this. We dominated the first 15 minutes against Spurs. We had 2 very good chances within the first 5 minutes to go 2-0. We then scored in the 8th minute. The goals didn't come against the run of play.
So tell me why should we give you a sensible answer when you've written such drivel?

But you don't yet know the relative quality, within that quantity, so you are not yet qualified to make that assertion.

I can tell from looking that none are as good as Luis Suarez.
our real issue falls mainly at rodgers' 'interesting decisions... let me explain before you get huffy:
1- why rest sterling against villa? he is 19 and its september... what rest does he need?
2- why the hell are we playing with carbon copy players (lallana and coutinho) who try and take up similar positions on the field and end up cancelling each other out... these 2 games ive watched lallana are probably his 2 worst performances in the past 18 months. similarly, coutinho has been lost vs villa and ludogorets, but was quality before that going back to about march-april.
3- when he does eventually remove one of the 2, he follows it up by removing the other one... so our 2 creative playmakers, are both removed, and replaced by a defensive minded midfielder, and another striker... who will supply said striker, feck knows.
Because he expects people to make a valued judgement on life after Suarez, compared to the strengthening of our squad, after four games.
=================================
based on the 4 games we have played so far, half of them we have been dog crap (villa and ludogorets). Meanwhile, we look more predictable, and lets not get started on manquillo.
Then we have the minor issue of playing with 2 full backs who still think they have time on the ball... yes theyre young, blah blah blah, but anyone that thinks manquillo is doing a better job than johnson would, is just to stuck on johnson being crap... flannagan looks like cafu compared to manquillo, whos only attacking 'ability'/'thought' seems to be: Take a touch, cross the ball... Take a touch, cross the ball... and usually to noone.
