ON coming to the Premier League from Scotland . . .
It is a huge step-up. The level of player is so much higher. But Andy was making a name for himself on the international scene so he has played at the top level. He will find it tough at the start but it won't take him long to settle in. He knows the level that is required because he has trained and played with Premier League players on Scotland trips.
ON what is needed in the Premier League . . .
Focus. There is always a job to do. I?¯need to know where the centre-half is, I?¯need to track runners, I?¯need to close down defenders. And all that is when you don't have the ball . . .
ON the shock of the new . . .
I?¯was stunned when I?¯arrived at Everton and experienced the quality of player that I?¯went into training with. I?¯had played against [Lionel] Messi, against Lilian Thuram. But that is different. In a game situation, you do not quite see precisely the technique or appreciate the skill. You are too caught up in what you should be doing, too involved. But in training at Everton I?¯just kept saying: "Geez oh." The quality of these guys is extraordinary. [Steven] Piennaar [the 32-year-old South African midfielder] was incredible. I?¯was in awe of him for the first season but now I?¯enjoy playing with him. I?¯am on his wavelength now and he is on my mine. That is what you learn over the years: you can improve, you can step up and it is a bit of a process more than anything else.
Again, you have more money so it's perfectly understandable that at this moment in time you have a better calibre of player.
But then if you were to go back 15 years ago the standard at Rangers was significantly higher because the imbalance in finances wasn't as marked.
You don't really understand what makes a bigger club do you?
To make the Scottish Premiership more easy on the eye, they should just make the captain of Celtic and Rangers stand on the centre circle at Ibrox then Celtic park and play a best out of 5 rock paper scissors to decide the league.
I'm sure the viewing figures would improve no end if they did this. Then fill out the schedule by screening Halifax vs telford etc from the English non league
But then if you were to go back 15 years ago the standard at Rangers was significantly higher because the imbalance in finances wasn't as marked.

But Rangers are so big......
I really hope you two aren't indicative of all Everton fans. It would be a shame if you were all halfwits.
I'd wish you all the best for the rest of the season but I'm not really sure if I'd mean it now.

You came along with the comment "with all due respect...." from that point you have been nothing but respectful. You turned this whole post, well tried to turn it into a Rangers are a bigger club argument.
You made this mess yourself and I have no sympathy for you
Even Scouse and the other kid have left you flapping about when confronted with the facts

Oh ffs. It's like trying to explain something to a 2 year old.
I'm going to keep this simple for you.
The winner of the Scottish Premiership gets around £2million in prize money.
The team that finishes bottom of the English Premier League gets somewhere around £50 million. Probably more.
It's pretty evident that regardless of how big your club is, if you get such vast differences in prize money then it's going to be difficult to compete financially with richer (but not bigger) clubs.
Your bank balance doesn't determine the size of your club.
It will be utterly hilarious when the big teams in Europe break away and form a European super league. And what will be more hilarious is when Celtic get invited, and potentially Rangers too, and yet your wee club won't even get a mention when it comes to team selection.
And then you won't have the big teams in your league, the sponsorship money will dramatically reduce and you'll be entirely fúcked.
And a European super league is pretty much inevitable in my book.

The fact of the matter is Besic that the global appeal of the Premier League is based on the glamour of the top clubs and sadly (because I do actually like Everton) that's not based on your club.
As I said, Everton are a big club in England but not one of the clubs that ultimately affect the global appeal of the league. Fans in Asia, Africa and North America tune in for Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea and that's what generates the finances you have to attract the level of player you currently have.
As I said at the very beginning, you are a big club. You're just not as big a club as Rangers.
Oh and Chu, I had a wee look at what you just typed there by jumping offline as I wondered why you'd appeared here. Stop being a creep ffs. It just makes you look sad.

I don't mind Rangers it's Celtic I can't stand. It must be soul destroying when your manager jumps ship and finds a club bottom of the second tier a more attractive proposition.

We will always draw a bigger TV audience than most clubs as we have a great squad filled with top internationals from around the world.....including fantastic home grown players.
I'm not saying you're a small club. I just don't believe you're a huge draw. As I say, if a Euro league was to come about in say 5-10 years time then a re-established Rangers and Celtic would be more likely to be involved than Everton. I would say the bigwigs would see those clubs as a bigger draw than your club.
