Agreed, but like you said, you can see why he didn't as well.

Yeah but it was one of my biggest criticisms because Fellaini, and then Mata, wasn't enough.

What's that got to do with Smalling?

..........

Read the whole thread and my very first comment.

I only picked on Smalling as one bit to counter Robbs heavily biased ramblings that only favoured City.

If you agree with Robb fair enough. I don't.

Neither did anyone else by the way.

So, feel free to go and pick them up on it.

Moyes had no luck during games at all
_____________

Bollux. Just because Moyes moaned about bad luck all the time does not make it so. He complained about one decision for three weeks.

PS You forget that whenever we got beat by 3 odd goals last season, invariably it could easily have been 6 or 7. Remind me who was our player of the season last year?

Come on, that was luck.

I'm not suggesting I agree with Rob, not all of it anyway, my point was aimed at your continued belief that Smalling's first booking was unlucky in the same way City were unlucky not to get any penalties, there is no comparison what so ever. Smalling got exactly what he deserved and everyone expect you seems to accept this.

Your first comment is about us improving performance wise, what has that got to do with Smalling?

I think United are improving, they certainly look a lot more dangerous in attack than they did before Di Maria & Falcao arrived.

With the proven players United have & the proven manager, they should be aiming for 2nd or 3rd. It could be close between them, Arsenal & City for those spots.

Got so many decisions against us v Leicester and to some extent Burnley . Chelsea were cheating throughout and didn't play better than us, very negative team.
All those penalty shouts against us vs city were things that other teams get away with week in, week out. It all evens itself out in the end.

Robb, Moyes was incompetent and got sacked. Get over it

If our lack of defensive solidity is not bad luck, what is? One can argue the Rooney run deserved a goal and that was bad luck. On decisions, as we say in Swahili "cheza na ref" (play according to the ref) and move on. Under different circumstances those pens are given but they were not. In the WBA game we had a player do exactly what Scholes once did in a Supercup to score, got caught and was sent off, only this was defensively, we accept and move on.
I am disappointed that we lost yesterday but mainly because 11v 10 away prevented us making the most of City's current bad patch. I blame both Smaling and suiicidal square balls that really gave City hope. How do those go in training!!!?
Lastly, Moyes killed the team spirit and culture. Firing all 3 assistant coaches destroyed any remnant of a style. We were 4 points better off indeed but that is because he had better defenders and teams still had the fear of United. Then Everton and Newcastle and WBA beat us and all fear disappeared for opposinf teams. I defended him until he said "I dont know what to do.."

Moyes wasn't good enough at this stage of his career but, he was dealt a bad hand and his luck was non existent

Lvg is far more qualified but that guarantees chit. So far, he's been woeful. We are tenth. Fingers crossed though. A loss against a fakking carp current city side was hard to take.

Moyes was not a failure at Everton. I remember very very well the state that club was in when he took over. The state they had been in for a decade too.

He wasn't right for United but there was far more wrong with United than him last season. 150 mill showed that and despite that, we sit tenth in the premier league. That's right, United are tenth in the league.

Things have to improve now. I hope and think they will but I'm not gonna pretend everything has been fine. They've been chit. End of.

Being patient is different to accepting the fact that so far, lvg gets no more than a 3 out of ten.

Sorry if that doesn't sit well

What were these wonder saves against Chelsea?

I recall De Gea guessing correctly on Hazard's poor shot but they scored off the corner so it's hardly a gamechanging moment. Other than that we worked Courtois just as much if not more

We all want to see UTD back at the top, but anyone who thinks we just have to sit back and wait for LVG to work his magic might be in for a surprise. Nothing is guaranteed in football, no matter what the history or how much money is thrown around.

Moyes is a good manager but he has a level, much like Pulis. Managing to constantly be expected to win was beyond Moyes as it would most likely be for Pulis.

Give them a job which requires being organised and difficult to beat with far less expectation and they will do a job.

Moyes isn't bad, he just isn't up to the level required to manage at the top, but that was largely the clubs fault for thinking he was.

Very true Macca.

With how average Liverpool and Arsenal have been, if after £150 million spent and our upcoming fixtures we don't get top 4 then LVG will have failed.

Every team we've put out this season has had more than enough to beat what they are put in front of.

An improvement on 7th would not be failure considering the hand LvG was dealt. A far worse one than Moyes

Don't be stupid.

Moyes -

Past it Rio, Evra, Vidic with Cleverley, Carrick and Fletcher as his midfield. Young and Valencia on the wings. RVP missing lots of the season with no world class replacement at #9. Also a far better top 4 than this season.

LVG -

Shaw, Hererra, Rojo, Blind, Falcao and Di Maria all signed.

Interestingly, I've noticed the media seem to give our managers a lot more leeway than other managers.

Moyes and LVG have got off pretty lightly from the media when looking at their results.
