We wouldn't win Europa so why the desire to drop into it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We would have a far better chance of winning it than we would in the CL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even in his pomp, Wenger has always been a failure in Europe.
Make your mind up!!

Liverpool have more chance of a euro trophy now don't they?
Arsenal literally have no chance of a European trophy now.
The champions league has 5 or 6 good sides, the rest are so so.

Those comments don't contradict each other so what's the point of your comment?
They do. You are saying Wenger is tactical inept and a failure in Europe, so how will he win the Europa?
No chance is not better than no chance.
Arsenal literally have no chance of a European trophy now
-------------------------------
I take it this is the Jamie Redknapp "literally"?!
I didn't say we would win the Europa, I said we would have a better than in the Europa than the CL.
better chance* in the Europa
Wenger hasn't had the opportunity to fail in the Europa because are consistent in getting out of the group stages.
There seems to be an inevitability about Arsenal in the CL when they face the big teams.
In the Europa there's less chance of facing those sides which would likely give you a much better chance of winning it.
There'd also be more belief you could win it. I don't think Wenger, the fans or the players really believe they can win the CL and that makes it even harder.
"Not with Wenger in charge
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only manager ever to get in the champions league knockout stages 15 times in a row, sometimes with pitiful squads.... Good analysis"
==========================================
Yeah, Godfather, you really are gonna have to explain this one because the rebuttal makes less than no sense. Don't run away from this one.
Putting Real to one side, Liverpool just played the Swiss and Bulgarian champions four times and one just once.
Not really seeing a strong argument here for them winning the Europa...
I thought Wenger was tactically inept and a failure in Europe? How can he guide us to winning it?
Again, no chance is not better than no chance.
Or are you devaluing the Europa and saying even an inept failure of a manager can win it?
Roma or City will win it.
Since we look likely to finish in a Europa slot we will have more chance of winning a European trophy next year
Nobody should laugh at us

What are you waffling on about? All I have said is we would have a better chance in the Europa than the CL. We would be one of the strongest teams as opposes to one of the weakest in the CL.
I did not say we would win it. I said we would have a better chance to win it than we do in the CL. It's really not difficult to understand.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
How did you extrapolate from qualifying to actually winning it?! Or are you prescribing to the probability that if you participate in the event enough times, you're bound to win it eventually??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If a manager has managed to qualify for the knockout stages 15 years in a row, something that even City with their millions have only managed once, then surely it stands to reason that he must be doing something right in said competion, right?
I think people are unable to see how ridiculously difficult it would be to be that consistent because you are so used to us qualifying.
The arguement that he hasnt won it isnt a great one either, Fergie probably the greatest manager of all time only one it twice and both times were very fortunate indeed! You need a lot of luck to win that trophy has united and chelsea will testify but to be as consistent in terms of qualifying is not lucky at all, and should be recognised.
We'll finish 4th. But next year should be a lot better, since the seeding systems have changed. So basically, instead of us being seeded 1st, which is obviously a big joke, we'll have potentially 3 tough teams to get past first.
Finishing 2nd in that kind of a group stage won't be that bad after all.

So you don't think we would win it? So what's the point?
Let's drop down to the Europa so we lose in a tournament we have better odds at the bookies to win...

What?!?!
Not only have you failed to answer the question, I think you've totally confused yourself. Sometime I wonder if you actually believe half of the shít you spout.
Wenger has never won a European trophy. and it's not as though he hasn't had ample opportunities either. However great his domestic achievements have been, he has been an abject failure in Europe. There's no why to sugar coat it.
Wenger is tactically clueless against the big boys: the Barcas and Madrids and Bayerns and Chelseas of Europe. He can never win the CL against teams of that calibre. The big boys of the Europa are the likes of Sevilla, Bilbao, Benfica, Napoli and the likes of Spurs and 'Pool. Those are tough games, but hardly games to make you cower out of inferiority.
No chance of pool winning Europa
I don't know if we would win it or not. What I know is we have a better chance to win it that we do in the CL.
1 season in the UEFA cup under Wenger = 1 final
17 seasons in the CL under Wenger = 1 final
