Not really, have the Czech Rep had any other good players to compete for the award during the period?

I am actually struggling to comprehend the fact that chelsea fans believe Cech was either better or on the same level as Scmeichel

You overhype Schemichael too much, but that is too be expected from you, and you could probably say the same about me regarding Cech. I watched Schemichael plenty, and I'm sorry he is not some kind of demigod you're making him out to be. He was excellent as Cech has been, but I think nostalgia and club bias has made you a bit deluded here.

Czech are not a bad team at all, ranked in the top 20 in the world, this isn’t some tin pot footballing nation we’re talking about. To discredit winning six consecutive player of the year awards for a country such as Czech Republic is ridiculous. They’ve had players like Nedved when Cech won his first.

Name me a good Czech player over the past 6 years?

Besides, it was in answer to this comment:

Cech has been fairly poor internationally as well. In fact didn't he cost Czech rep in the euros a few yrs ago??

Does a fairly poor international career get recognised with six consecutive player of the year awards? No, the original comments were just made up.

People are seriously deluded here. Manuel Neur is a class class keeper. To suggest DDG and Court are more talented than him is bonkers. I remember us facing Schalke and the guy was the sole reason those two legs were not a cricket score.

I think he retired more than six years ago but he was certainly playing when Cech won his first award. He has won 7 in total, just 6 consecutive. It doesn’t really matter, it was just in answer to Manc Python's ill though out comment which just shows he was making it up as he went along.

Neuer is the best in the world. In terms of the three above, it's Neuer>Courtois>De Gea.

Peter Schmeichel is a rare occurance where all the praise is just. Messi or Ronaldo like. You just can't say how good they are and it be enough. Schmeichel was the same. He once had Bruce Grobbelar, the Liverpool(!) goalkeeper jumping up and applauding a save he made DURING a United vs Liverpool game. If that doesn't show you how outrageously incredible and gifted Peter Schmeichel was, nothing will. In his own role on the field, no one has played a position better than Schmeichel in the premier leagues history for me, as impossible as that is to quantify.

Neuer is 28, De Gea is 23 and Courtois just 22, not really a fair comparison. Neuer emerged as a similar young talent a few years ago but has been playing at the top for a long time now, young in keepers years yes but he has a lot more experience.

Don't like this argument, because in the second leg it was a cricket score and Neuer had a mare. At least two of the 5 we scored he was to blame. Doesn't mean he's not an excellent goalkeeper, but the second game he was downright poor.

I think we should just settle on the fact that we have two outstanding young goalkeepers in the league!

Chelsea fans are glad to have Courtois and Manchester united fans are glad to have DDG.

Spare a thought for Arsenal, eh?

When Cech made that save against United in the FA Cup, I'm sure there were many players and keepers praising it on twitter. I think all keepers can make a brilliant save at any moment, and that's not really a good factor to judge a keepers ability on.

I don't agree with your second point, as I do think Cech has been as good if not better, as impossible as it's to compare two keepers from different eras.

Mignolet and Szczęsny in goal together wouldn't be as good as any of Cech, De Gea, Courtois, Neuer or Buffon alone. I genuinely believe that too, they'd still make stupid errors.
