the classic change of conversation.
Thought you said we couldn't spend but then mention 200 million?

Chelsea's finest

when did I say you couldnt spend? wtf are you on aboutSO SO stupid
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How many titles do chelsea have?

How much has sugar daddy spent to get there?

Check the above out, was called out telling lies, saying I said something I didnt. I asked him when I said it, he couldnt find an answer and went on about spending again when his team has spent millions just to be in the top four and stumble bum their way through victories this year.

So stupid.

Off topic slightly, but according to media reports this morning Chelsea have had a £101,000,000 bid rejected by Madrid for Gareth Bale.
If he did come back to England would he prefer London or Manchester?

Oh your including the one you won my bad, thought u was saying asif it wasnt included because you didnt bother in one or something.

Ok Chelsea may have more money but you can only spend what you earn. United's revenues far exceeds chelsea's, therefore United can spend far more than chelsea. Its not even up for debate.

Im not talking about just this season. unless chelsea significantly improve their revenue streams, they cannot financially compete with united. Im not a fan off FFP but this is the reality of the situation whether you like it or not
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe utd can spend more but how much more realistically to make a difference? We could probably still spend millions a summer if we so wished and could get 99 percent of players we wanted. We have improved our revenue streams, the only thing holding us back is the stadium. Where we still charge the highest corporate tickets to make up for it.

Unless utd wanted to spend 100 million on a 30 million pound player then we shouldnt struggle tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I dont doubt Chelsea are a big draw for top players. I already said Chelsea are among European elite. The argument is about which club is the bigger draw IF both chelsea and United are after the same player. In that case United has the edge in financial pointy of view.

Under FFP rules United can operate on a far higher wage budget than Chelsea. United can offer silly wages for top players because there plenty of players on silly wages already at the club. There is a limit to what chelsea can offer to a top player without upsetting other top players on relatively low wages. that limt is lower than that of United. If the player that the clubs are after prefers the club that pays him more , United have the edge.

OP what is the point of this article ??

Is it because the only Manchester club we view as title rivals these days is City ?

Even after a £200 million spend on players over the last year or so you still can't compete for the title. That must be worrying.

posted on 31/12/14

There's plenty of players on high wages at Chelsea as well to be fair. United definitely have an advantage with FFP, at least in it's current guise, it won't really affect Chelsea either though.

not really, United finish 7th last season. now we are sitting at 3rd with a realistic chance of finishing 2nd. This is while getting used to a completely different different style of play and formation and also bedding in nearly 10 players. United are exactly where most sensible people expect them to be, no need for concerns

Actually a billion spent and more trophies that we can fit into the cabinet including the Champions League.

Utd on the other hand have recently spent 1/5 of a billion just to get back into the top four.

Chelsea are a joke, lol at the league titles, do you think anyone cares about fa cups??

Respect to utd for crushing city and chelsea in the league.

ffp was designed to protect utd and madrid, utd can outspend everyone in every facet, look at their revenue ffs.

Luke shaw the way you keep saying "far more" and can offer "much" more I think your overexagerating. Do you have the records for our top earners? or the revenue per year, especailly after utd have spent so much recently? If we wanted to offer a player 500,000 a week we could is my point. We would not miss out on a player if both chelsea and utd are going for one, on financial terms imo.
it would be the players preference

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Might have been a decent effort OP if you hadn't forgotten the basics and actually checked the figures.

Now let us go by your logic which means that everything your club has spent has taken you to scoring just one more goal than boring Moyes managed. Close to 200m for a single goal.
I have to say that hands down that makes you the winners in the Completely Wasted Money Trophy.

I would say Chelsea have been successful particularly as Utd were very strong and had stolen a March in exploiting the global fan base. The chopping of managers I'm hindsight was probably the single biggest detriment to complete dominance. I definitely think the draw of London will become significant when competing for top players, as a world capital can't help but be more appealing.

Gillipsp,

Largesse, / Leveraged, clearly you get the Star delivered every day, bravo< applause>

Cfc are located in one europes most expensive property for spots, not in a industrial waste land which is Old Trafford, expanding the stadium is an issue, although preferable to relocation which is another issue.

No largesse there just loyalty to the supporters wishes.

Leverage, Your ignorance of CFC finances is abundantly clear, Cfc have been in the top 7 highest club earners in world football for over 10 years, more times rated 4 th, with our stadium capacity of 42 000 we are punching far above our weight and run an excellent business model for income streams , nothing to do with Mr Abramovich and his Billions.

Utd and CFC which club can attract the highest paid players in world football, United win this hands down, but today fail because of the hovel which is Manchester in comparison to the bright lights and up market London.

From this you read into it, players will come CFC for the club , and the pleasures of London, players will go Manchester for the money full stop, enjoy!

Td ENGLISHman, you stupid fck wit, your club is lining its pockets over the supporters right to challenge for silverware.

Cfc are not a joke, we are run by a an owner who has given to the club unconditionally , and have challenged at every level with success , we go into the new year with high hopes and realistic chances of winning in the EPL & Europe, how about you sucker .

Its not an exaggeration, Chelsea's total revenue is about 2/3rd of united's total revenue last time time I checked. the gap will be wider if we get back in to CL this season. This means Chelsea have to operate on a budget that is 2/3 of that of United. Its not an exaggeration to say united can spend far more than a club that is operating on 2/3rd of their budget, Its the reality.

What club is the bigger draw depends on the said player's preference I agree but United clearly have the financial edge. Chelsea used to have it but now they dont
