I like Steven Fletcher personally, if the likes of Benteke are unavailable. I've seen him be an absolute handful for two centre backs, and he still scores goals.
Now THAT is the type of signing our fans would absolutely go spare about, so I'd actually never want us to sign him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has a slightly worse record than Ings, so nah.

There we have it
I know you would Chronic, which is my point.
If he was a Belgian people would speak more highly of him.
Also started at Burnley didn't he?
Does anyone think Agbonlahor could be an option?
He was their best player last season as well.
Agree about Barkley. I remember Everton fans saying he was better than Rooney.

You shouldn't hold that against him. Plenty of players are thick.
No issue with the Ings link, suspect it's just rumour than anything else, but looks a decent player at Burnley, only issue would be how he adapted to the increased expectation, but not a bad player.
Have said repeatedly that we are not going to sign a world class striker, we can't pay their wages and clubs won't sell world class in January.
But these fans on here that say we need a striker, and not signing one in January will lose all faith in Levy and show no commitment to backing Poch are the same ones that will only accept a world class foreign name.
Make up your minds, would you accept a player that would work hard and improve the squad, or moan we signed no-one and then berate Levy for not signing any striker at all.
No brainer for me, a decent striker at a decent price with good potential to improve is better than no striker at all.
I said last week that i would be happy with Ings. The guy is actually pretty fast if you watch him and has excellent technical ability. He could potentially be an excellent partner to Kane and a very realistic option aswell. If we offer burnley a decent fee then they might find it hard to turn down. But this is levy we are talking about and he will probably offer them 500k or something silly like that
With Bony likely heading towards Man City I think we should go in for Dzeko. He's a good striker and would definitely be an upgrade to Adebayor on the bench and Soldado too actually, who I've always backed but isn't providing for the faith given in him.
2 reasons why not I think, City are after Bony cause of a lack of strikers currently so I guess unlikely to want to get rid of another even if he will get limited time.
Plus, we all bemoan the lack of service to Soldado, Dzeko is hardly a striker to make things happen for himself, we ned someone with clever movement, a better touch than Dzeko, and more importantly, more clinical.
Dzeko is someone I wantedbefore he went to City, but not overly impressed by him now I've seen more of him.
A loan in that case. I've said before but for the right price I'd be willing to take a gamble on Pato.
I agree though that any striker who comes in would ideally have some pace and dribbling. It poses more of a threat for defenders who have to be more wary of a high line compared to playing against Soldado etc.

City do not have a choice, they have to offload or breach FFP............................
No they don't.
Dzeko leaving in January is highly unlikely. As adam mentioned, they are bringing in Bony to add to their squad because they are short up front.

Dzeko is hardly gonna leave sitting on the champions bench....to sit on ours....!!!!
Like I say.....I no little of ings...so...
Teke at right price.....as his injury record is rascal..and let's face it.....wld only get whole lot worse the minute he signed for us....
I wldnt mind Austin.....come from non league....bit of a fairy tale story.....that hunger and determination I rely respect.

Id take Ings in a heartbeat. (if there is truth in the rumours)
A massive upgrade on Adebayor and Solado.
He scores goals, has pace and good strength and technically very good too.
Why would Burnley sell Ings this January?
He is essential to their survival this year. Another season in the Prem is worth far more financially to Burnley than his actual worth in the transfer market.
Don't get me wrong - I think he'd be the perfect foil for Kane
Thoughts?
This is laughable if it happens. More squad players. Fantastic.
Totally agree chronic, if his name was dani inglasis our fans would love to sign him,
