He as technically better than any of us
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You could have made it more interesting than that......I'd teed it up for a spectacular crescendo !
I don't think anyone should get upset about Pundit's view/agenda, as long as we know how such individuals think and usually post. There are many differing views, and that's why we have a forum. It would be dull if everyone said the same thing, so a few "alternative angles" is entertaining, even if from contributors who are generally derided.
That's all it was... Think I've told the Henry yarn on here before.
He didn't stand out as a 12 year old on our pitches. We were all bigger and stronger. I was a centre back playing behind him but he was a creative midfielder than rather than an anchor man.
He hardly scored, couple of free kicks now and again.
But...if the ball got lumped skywards he was the only player on the pitch who could bring it down like he had glue on his foot.
We had a successful team and won many trophies around England. Scouts picked out three of our team and all were the technical players. It's virtually all they look for at that age as long as you've got good genes to grow.
There was no adulation today when Doyle took to the field just a lot of supporters showing respect to a Wolves player who has never been anything but a proper professional ever since he joined our club. To my knowledge he has never said a bad word about the club despite being treated shabbily.
And yes he is, and now always will be third choice striker. And yes, he came on today because the game was in the bag and Kenny wanted to protect his best two strikers so that they could perform on Tuesday. If anyone sees a problem with this they obviously have anti-Doyle issues like Perton - but then does anyone really care what Perton says?
No point in being bitter if you were overlooked. Bit like X Factor - lots of wannabes, but only the best make it. You did better than most by being there to be considered.
I think the Great majority of those applauding Doyle were expressing gratitude for his service some years ago, as I was, nothing more.

That's how I read it, and probably the common consensus. If Perton's bitter about it, what does that matter? It's not as if he's representative of the fans.
The real debate about Doyle will arrive if he doesn't leave and Edwards gets injured.

Yes, agree, I would have him ahead of Edwards now if we were to play 4-2-3-1.
Usually when we all get to the point of knocking Edwards he scores. Another today
I'm not bitter at all Doyle is on 40k a week and has not performed for our club for at least 3 seasons now and has been part of our falling from grace, why would I want to keep him at our club?
Most of you seem to adore a guy who has failed us big time and who has also been unwilling to move away because of money. Obviously he isn't bothered about playing football just picking up his over inflated wages.
I love the harmony on our board a five nil win
I don't blame Doyle for that completely. We chose to give him that contract length and those wages and we offered that as a binding contract.
Where I draw the line is fans getting nostalgic about the 'Old 2010 Doyle' when we have just found two Sylvain Ebanks-Blake's and both are 21 and 22.
Did anyone hear wm when Kenny talked about playing 3-5-2 and they had practiced the system all week saying every week he had a plan b and that was his this week
This can't be true Perton because posters always say we have no Plan B

2 points per game now down to 1.93. Hoorah
For all the people who take exception to my Doyle stance...
How would you feel if the board said we can't have any loanees now because Doyle is like a new member of the squad and we need to budget for his full £40k without another club paying half?

Sad isn't it, a resounding 5-0 win with our young guns looking awesome and the talk is all about Doyle.
We have a special player in Afobe, this guy will fire us to success and we will do well to keep hold of him beyond next season assuming he stays fit.
I don't have any problem with Doyle to be honest, he is a decent reserve to have at hand.
But i don't really understand why the argument is 'just remember all the good times he gave us'.
Well i do, but i also remember the back to back relegations, if he gave us the prem times, he also gave us league 1.
Also, for the wage and apparent calibre of Doyle, he failed to shine at all in league 1. Disinterested? Probably, but that isn't an excuse, he should have been far more influential and wasn't.
You have to ask yourself....
Wolves may need 4 top players to go up, the likes of Afobe (young, high talent, low wage).
Those four players could be given £20k each....
...getting rid of Sako and Doyle.
Well Sako and Doyle won't be around next season either way, only promotion would maybe give Sako a moments thought.
We are on the right path and i can't wait for next season already, i think we will be much improved and thats after a solid year this time around.
And who knows, this season isn't dead yet
