Defeat for us at the weekend would be a setback, but its not the end of the world. All the teams will drop points. Don't Liverpool go to Arsenal next week? For all this talk of Liverpool being far and away the form team, Arsenal have picked up only 2 points less in the same period.

Who are the best team? Chelsea?

...........

Yes, by some way. They are 6 points clear with a game in hand.

Would snap your hand off for a draw

Robb, the best team wins the league, you cant argue with that.

if you donr believe me look for yourself, Liverpool have scraped results, theyve not gone out there and tonked anyone in months.

since december theyve had

Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Liverpool 2-2 Leicester
Wimbledon 1-2 Liverpool
Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool
Liverpool 0-0 Bolton
Bolton 1-2 Liverpool
Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool
Besiktas 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool 0-0 Blackburn
Swansea 0-1 Liverpool

like i say, grinding out results but youre making them sound like Bayern or Barcelona.

if we had got some of those results people would be calling for LVG's head, but for some reason Liverpool are the best team in the league

There seems to be some games missing from that list.

Kung Fu we weren't our of form when we played them. We had won our previous 5 matches.

Liverpool were at their lowest for ages. Rodgers made the decision to go to a back 3 and it didn't quite work against us - although they had more than enough good chances to beat us that day.

Since then they've done amazingly well. Won something like 10 out of 12 league games - drawn the other 2. Great defensive record, beaten some good sides and have a very good style with the likes of Sturridge now coming back.

i thought id leave those out

no obviously i was just pointing out that there have been a few results where you have scraped wins, and lets be honest, there is nothing wrong with that.

you're showing great form, but youre just not the best team in the league like some are making out

They are the best team on form, but that says more about everyone else than it does about them

I'm going for 1-3 to United

I fully expect us to lose this game. 3-0 Liverpool

You have to admire the way the keep picking up these wins though.

........

Indeed you do.

It was a Fergie trademark, to be honest. We won a few titles doing just that.

I can't see either team keeping a clean sheet

2-2

Liverpool have won 10 and drawn 3 of their last 13 league games, I'm sure that's the best form of any PL club.

Over the past 13 league games for Chelsea they have won 8, lost 1 and drawn 4. While we have won 7, drawn 4 and lost 2.

Liverpool are the form team in the league.

this is effectively a derby

form gets thrown out the window

They are well due to drop some points then.

Hopefully Liverpool hit form a bit too early then as they're due a poor spell.

Would like nothing more than to beat them there this weekend but I think a draw is the best we'll come away with. And we'd take that for sure.

We need 18pts from 9 games I think. 6 wins and 3 defeats would see us finish on 74pts so it would be mighty close.

That cliche.

I know we had a knack of beating Liverpool during their dominance and Liverpool had a fairly good record when we were on top but I would imagine I would also imagine more often that not the form team get better results whether it's a derby or not.

Can you be 'due' a loss? I'm not so sure. I mean, Arsenal were due a loss 38 league games in a row one year..

VC

Doesn't necessarily work like that though although we can hope so.

In all 3 seasons under Liverpool they have made vast improvements in the second half of the season.

Hopefully our gd won't take a beating either and we can add to it . Could prove to be the difference in the end, you never know.

Marginally better than Arsenal (10-1-2).

Lets look at it from Liverpool's end. If you were Rodgers you would be telling your players win on Sunday and you're up to 4th, win the next week at Arsenal and you're 3rd, it's in their hands.

If they have that belief then they could be very dangerous. Like G Nev said last night, the win against Swansea was crucial as it meant the Liverpool players now know a win on Sunday means they overtake us, psychologically that's big, they haven't actually been in the top 4 since August.

Liverpool's league form is the best in Europe this year.

But...... form goes out of the window.
