Absolute nonsense if Welbeck or whoever else plays instead of Kane. There's being loyal, and then there's being idiotic.

Looks as though Roy is going 4-3-3 with Welbeck and Sterling either side of Rooney, Henderson, Carrick and Delph in midfield

Welbeck is a better international player than Kane so deserves to start.

Harry kane is a brilliant striker and that's where he should play. Not on the left instead of Welbeck just to fit him in
Hodgson is fecking useless anyway so nothing would surprise me. He is lucky to still have the job, after the shambles of the last world cup. He has all but wriggled off the hook with the easy group he has been gifted for the euro qualification. He will no doubt be found out big time again at the finals.
Sizzle, sorry mate I have deleted your post in error. no hard feelings. I never even had time to read your post. you didn't call me a right keeeent, did you?
Darren
Welbeck and Kane should be the front two. Rooney should be dropped.
I hope he gets a few minutes as sub, no point him risking an injury against these minnows, Welcack and Rooney should have enough to see Lithuania off.
Spurs need Kane more than England at this time, Kane`s time for England will come in more important games.
2 internationals - he shouldn't start both. Makes sense if he starts the friendly as opposed to the competitive fixture.
If they play 2 up top, then I may change my opinion and argue that both him & Rooney should be starting this one. Rooney is the captain and undroppable, and Kane is most on form. But I think it is 4-3-3 isn't it? So.....
Kane deserves his place on the bench. Long way to go before he deserves to start ahead of Rooney.

Based on what?
On form nobody should start ahead of Kane. Least of all Welbeck when it comes to playing as a striker.
Kane should start he's deserved it. Welbeck? No shouldn't even be close.
Welbeck has always performed well for England, it's why Lukas Podolski used to get picked for Germany despite being crap at club level for 90% of his career
Based on Rooney being better than him for England.

Of course he's going to be, he's never had a game. But I think it's safe to say he'd make a better striker than Welbeck anyway, given that he's scored in 1 season about three quarters the amount Welbeck has in 6 seasons.
Hope he isn't even on the bench
This international break has a Kane injury written all over it
Welbeck won't be playing as a striker, unless you want Kane playing on the left

I'm going by what Sandy has said in the OP - Rooney and Welbeck to play up front.
The lack of thought and understanding on this thread is astounding tbh, "waaaah Kane is in great form and Welbeck is crap at club level" Kane should be playing instead of Welbeck"
You would think, but Welbeck is a strange case at club and international level.
Doubt Welbeck will play up front anyway. Kane should start but with Delph making way, in my opinion.
