Not as bad as the old testament
Old Halloween films scared the crap out of me when I was little.
Not so much anymore though.
Books? Goosebumps
Point Horror books as a kid, enjoyed those.
About the only books I ever read haha, apart from books about space.
Films like Saw I find are more comedy than horror for me. I watch them for the entertainment and I find them quite amusing.
I enjoyed as above so below and REC, that Spanish film.
Human centipede?
The Conjuring was a good film. Had its jumpy moments
Any Dario Argento film and James Herbert book.
Prefer horror/thriller books over films but prefer action/drama films over books

The first nightmare on elm strew scared the 💩 out of me when I first watched it at 8 years old especially the scene where Freddy slices that girl up over the bedroom wall
The sequels got a bit silly after that and became more comedy horror
Cannibal holicaust whilst strictly not a horror is extremely unsettling. I actually questioned if the film was real at one point. It wasn't although the scenes where animals were killed were real. Caused a lot of uproar

Possessed horrors are all the same just with different quality shown in the effects department
Amityville remake wasn't that bad and isn't really much different from The Conjuring IMO
The difference in directing and pacing made it far different/superior for me. Let it alone it being an original and not some old classic rehashed. The fact that it was so successful is inspiring and shows that not everything needs to be a remake and there is still money out there for the studios if they trust in nee ideas.
They finished the movie basically leaving it open for more of the same
Milk Milk Milk
Dont see what that has to do with it. How else were they going to convince a major studio to put faith in an original haunted house/possession based film?
With the directors previous record it was never a doubt. Although I wish they would just leave it. They will never improve on it.
But it's not Original
They are all the Same
The Conjuring was just another Insidious which were both copies of Paranormal Activity.
Borefests the lot of them.
Oh look the door moved.
The door slammed shut.
Wait I didn't leave that there!
Slowly building up to a woman being held in mid-air by her hair by a ghost and then she gets chucked or dragged out of the room.
That same scene is in every one of those films I think.
it's a break from reality with (ideally) clever twists
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is the Best
Nice one Greg. Thanks for that input.
TCP yes it is. As far as it goes in a world of constant remakes of old films goes it may as well be a new language. It was new material mixed with the old style 70's era scary films.
Youll probably make out that all films are just copies of another though. Have at it
To think that all genres/films dont use clichéd scenes is ignorant. They are all trying to make a successful film using inspirations from other great films. Not just in horror. So its all well to pick out common scenes and call it boring but Ill have to assume you feel the same about films in general.
So you Agree.
Not Original
Are you really trying to wum here too? No I disagree.
New material. Also with a nice take on psychics.
It's a WUM cause you disagree
