"Right, but what is it exactly that Rodgers has said? Some quotes would come in handy?"

This is Rodgers we're talking about. Only a matter of time before he comes out with some nonsense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah so the media interviews Falmaria alluded to haven't happened yet?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry had to shoot off to pick up kids etc

I seriously won't entertain going g back and finding quotes by BR as that isn't the debate I was having or wanted. Frankly not that important and I find it pointless in the main. Its all there for those who wish to see it.

All I know, and I stand to be corrected as I simply am going by I what I read, is that the first I heard about this saga was BR in an interview. If I recall this lead to sterling this n giving an interview as he felt he was being painted as a money grabber. So he obviously felt that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Funny that.

The amount of people I've seen say the club/Rodgers are to blame/have handled this poorly/have said this that or the other.

Yet when asked what the club/Rodgers have said exactly no one can come up with anything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You don't need exact quotes to know that the BR interview and comments lead to sterling coming out to defend himself from being labelled a money grabbing so and so.

Thats just denial. Like I said we had the same with pogba

You are wrong and stand corrected. The truth is a Google away. I am surprised you prefer to make crazy assumptions rather than do a little research before shooting off your gob.

Why'd Berahino also give and unauthorised interview to stir up the fans?

There's a pattern with this agent Falmaria

So go then paraphrase. What, using actual words, was it that Rodgers said?

It's all well and good pointing to a vague interview. You must know what he said in this interview?

advised? Sterling may well have told his agent he wants to leave Liverpool and his agent has strategised what appears to be an effective (if ugly) method of forcing the issue.

--------------------------

There's a very simple way to force the issue. Hand in a transfer request priavtely to the club. Let it be know you want out. Either the club will try to persuade you to stay or they'll let you go. It's pretty simple. Putting it out to the media isn't the way to do it. Aidy Ward is also Berahino's agent. He did the same with him earlier in the season. I think both are being badly advised by an agent who doesn't care about them but about how much money he can make out of them.

It was the "fantastic offer" interview.

Let's put Sterling and his agent in the Large Hadron Collider, fire them off, smash them together and see if we can find evidence of the 'common sense particle'....

Love how the Liverpool fans repeat this over and over again, obviously having swallowed the rodgers line that this is all about money.

I know it is tough to admit that he might - just might - have a better chance of winning stuff at another club, but 1 appearance in the CL in 6 seasons, and 1 trophy in 9 seasons, suggests that he really might.

It's not all about money. But name me another 20 year old player on £100,000?

I think he wouldn't get as much playing time at another club. His form is patchy, and he's still got a lot to learn.

I think he after too much too soon, and yeah I agree with Rodgers (and others) when he said he needs to think about his career in the long term.

Brenden made it public to the media that sterling had been offered a fantastic offer by the club and made it clear it had not yet been signed. This started the whole thing. I cannot recall another manager talking about contracts with the media apart from talks are on going which is all he needed to say. Basically he shone the spot light on sterling and all that has happened since isa rresultresult of that.

Have you tried to rad the context within which it has been said? It's a completely fair point every time. Also, how is it ' the Rodgers line' that this is all about money? Did he say that? Must have missed it.

Would it not it be better to play every game and win a cup rather than play one or two games and win a cup. What's more satisfying?

AgAin I get what you are saying but Rodgers saying something doesn't make it right. Again I give you the pogba example. But also the current going one at your club eg Gerrard going . as a youngster I can see Sterlings pov

do you think pellegrini/mourinho/wenger would sell him their respective clubs by telling him he would be a squad player, starting a dozen games a year?

he presumably believes he can make the starting xi of wherever he goes, he may be right or wrong, but he has to believe that.

if he doesn't think that, and genuinely wants to pick up a fatter salary for warming a bench, i would lose a lot of respect for him.

Do we even know if they're actually interested other than media rumours.

Does Sterling get into those teams ahead of players they already have? Not so sure at Chelsea. Man City possibly if they change the way they play. Arsenal, not sure. Ahead of Cazorla, Sanchez, Walcott, Ox??

For me Sterling is still raw potential. He doesn't walk into those teams.

Which lends weight to the argument that it isn't about the money no?
