So there will be no negative effect on the price of sponsorship? I find that hard to believe. The sponsors will want the best deal they can negotiate and this gives them more leverage collectively.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't see what's naive about that. It assumes that the sponsors are self interested entities, which they are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the most profitable sport in the world? Football
What is the largest audience, football
Money as always will win in the end
Like I have said, read the statements from the sponsors
More than enough wiggle room
FIFA will cut some sort of deal with the FBI.
'Visa says it will reassess its sponsorship unless Fifa makes changes. Coca-Cola and Adidas voiced concern.'
Voiced concern. Didnt they make some sort of statement last December? I'm sure they 'voiced concern' then too.

It's so odd how junk food and coke sponsors world cups, olympics etc.

Fifa’s commercial partners obviously have to raise concerns but will ultimately await the conclusion of the US/Swiss findings prior to committing to any course of action.
Rio Olympics 2016 sponsored by Fruit.
It's a shame that this is being turned into a nationalistic/big corporation argument. Anyone that loves football should be seeking reform and not want to see Blatter re-elected. There is no justification for the state FIFA has allowed itself to get into. He would have walked already in other organisations.

Of course they will, they will all come out with statements later that the "reforms" are appropriate.
Seen this game played so many times.
It is sad to see. None of these guys give 2 shts about football.
It is all about the Benjamins.
Does anyone know if Fridays ballot is open or secret?

Well, yes obviously commercial partners aim to promote their brand and generate revenue rather than further the sport of football.
However when one affiliate (in this instance Fifa) is found to be so toxic and corrupt it damages the business partner, there is no option but to end the relationship.

Sponsor can negotiate same gross for lower fee = net profit...
Blatter's now saying he can't be responsible of others.
What exactly does his job entail then?

FIFA is supposed to be a not-for-profit organisation.

They can, FIFA cam also invite others to tender. What do you think happens next?
Fifa will become more of a poison chalice than it is already - Any credible sponsors will stay well clear.
A consequence of these events would be that FIFA has a weaker bargaining position across the board.
A breakaway federation built on honesty and transparenct would hold all the aces, I hope UEFA break away after tommorrow and start the ball rolling.
Things will reach crisis point when the only fast food chain bidding for a contract with Fifa will be Harry Ramsden's.
