As I previously told you before all this FIFA news exploded today, FIFA corrupt to the core and as I said from the top down ! Now you're gonna believe it....

Good Job USA Dept of Justice!
Why one earth a country with a soccer (sorry, Football) tradition didn't haul FIFA in is a black eye to all the football governing bodies - England, Germany, France, Italy (well you know them!), Spain.......
This goes to the question of how deep the corruption in Football is.
The USA DOJ is talking $150 Million in under the counter payoffs to various FIFA officials for their votes. That's just for starters. The Swiss are still looking into 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
I hope these Bug - gers all do time in Gitmo before they close it down - if they ever do! USA

Oh, about Burkhas,.... you can get them with a special holster for your Kalashnikov .... no one will ever see it ....until you use it, of course.
I do hope the Aussies get the 2018 WC, assuming they want it, and the whole FIFA future will unravel .... as it should.

No, no ... you do not understand.
You should READ WHAT GARY LINEKER SAYS.
Obviously he is not a corrupt official.
And you say he was a diver??
He was one of our best players.
YOU are the diver, mate.

MUDD sounds more and more like that lunatic Galloway by the post. Nothing more disgusting than hating your own country.

The greatest form of patriotism Is dissent. I love my country. To deny the wrong things we have done is dishonest.

Not sure I have criticised Britain here. I am applying the logic people are applying to others to our country. Are we the only ones allowed to criticise?

but earlier you were saying we should respect their culture and now you're saying that they are primitive people who need us evil westerners to help them get to our developed level
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No I have not said that. Again you are posting what you think I say as opposed to what I say

There are countries that are far more advanced than others. So when you do business with these countries particularly when it comes to health and safety, you work with them to get their regulations up to scratch as it helps foster goodwill and shows you care about their welfare which further enhances your reputation.

We did it in Qatar with the oil and gas industry but the construction industry does not want to because they clearly do not value the lives of their workers.

We did and still do. They do not. The qataris were very appreciative and we even set up programmes to train young engineers in UK universities so they go back and run their industry and it works.

We do not let people die when we can do our bit to save lives.

Who makes up FIFA?

FIFA, also known as FIFA Football or FIFA Soccer, is a series of association football video games or football simulator, released annually by Electronic Arts under the EA Sports label. While there was no major competition when EA released the first titles in their Madden NFL and NHL series, football video games such as Sensible Soccer, Kick Off and Match Day had been developed since the late 1980s and already competitive in the games market when EA Sports announced a football game as the next addition to their EA Sports label.

Sot on

How you can be head of a closed organisation and not be involved or aware of what's going on is beyond me
Clearly he has had plenty of time to cover his own tracks so just hope there's enough to get him on but if all the countries just got together and walked out it would solve itself anyway

But lets not just think its Fifa with their fingers in the pie, our own FA is and many others do plenty of self gratification when it comes to money and dodgy deals and back handers
----------------------------------------------------------------------

100% spot on. Finally we agree on something.

It wouldn't surprise me if every FA in the world is guilty of it. The governing bodies of football have been corrupt for a long time and if this leads to people in the English FA being taken down and a restructuring, then I am perfectly happy to let that happen.

I also hope that it doesn't just stop with the governing bodies, but stretches to dealing with the issues of people taking percentages of transfer fees etc. There is too much money in the game and too many people in it just to make money for themselves whilst offering no benefit to the fans or game itself.

The amount of money that must get lost through agents and bureaucrats is ridiculous (they are talking $150 million just in the USA jurisdiction for these arrests, and that could just be the tip of the iceberg). That's not to mention the outrageous money that comes through sponsorship and TV rights. Maybe its time FIFA started claiming this money and putting it into projects in places like Qatar, in order to gloablise football and also help develop countries, rather than giving them a World Cup they are not ready for at the cost of human lives.

An organisation like FIFA could do so much good and I'm sure it already has some noble projects. It could do so much more though, if the people in charge weren't only interested in lining their own pockets.

Fifa has needed a top to tail restructure for years.

The reason they are based in Switzerland is purely financial, and it’s absurd that they are “officially” registered as a non-for profit charity!!

Also when it comes to the US, we can applaud them for this but they seem to only go after certain countries/organisations/political figures if its in their interests to do so.

Whoa, corruption was first exposed in a British newspaper but as none of the accused were British and none of the illegal transactions were carried out on UK soil, there was nothing we could do legally but tell a world that didn't want to listen.
