Beetlejuice 2 - 5/10. Just ugh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Figured as much. I am not a fan of Tim Burton.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I like a lot of his work. This had potential but it just turns into a mess and is massively anticlimactic. Not a fan of the 'gross' element of horror either.
Problem with 80s lists is you can make a top 20 and still omit 20 classics. Truly an incredible era for film.
n ware is Cinema Paradiso,Tenebrae ore allthe Fantozzi moovies?
Hmmm lot to think aboot the 80s top 20 list….
A lot to digest.
No Witness, No Wall Street. No Empire Strikes Back… ð€

Well don’t even thinking of including that massively overated and boring -af nothing of a film. I’m sure all the plaudits are bribes or people who have never actually had to see such a dull shiiiiiiittty movie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or just NPE
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was going to say, stop trying to "Candyman" you appearance by bringing up There Will Be Blood lol
As well as hating Yoda, the score and sound effects out of TESB cover up a lot of deficiencies.
I am looking at it again though.
also things like Leiah accusing Solo of being a great big "feeling hurter". Like something out of the wizard of ox from 1939.

The score is exceptional but what about the visual and practical effects, the story and script, the character development, the plot twist and the stakes and weight.

You have an issue with Leia insulting Solo but are perfectly happy to put Ghostbusters in your top 20?
I can guarantee that Ghostbusters has more ridiculous and cheesy lines that Empire Strikes Back.

visual and practical effects > in parts excellent for the time, in parts a bit lame. Overall impressive. The music gets louder for the lamer parts.
the story > very basic
script > terrible
the character development > almost non existent on any serious level
the plot twist > ?
the stakes and weight > don't know what this means
i've now watched enough to be sure I'm content with excluding it from the top 20.
back on to the 90s...
oh wow, Kyle (John Connor's dad) reappears to Sarah Connor in her cell in a vision.
should have done it as a flashback if they had to do it at all. that was so lame.
that major lame up aside, the first 40 minutes of T2 is undeniably sensational as an action fantasy.
