As well as hating Yoda, the score and sound effects out of TESB cover up a lot of deficiencies.
I am looking at it again though.

The score is exceptional but what about the visual and practical effects, the story and script, the character development, the plot twist and the stakes and weight.

Fantastic, off beat, personal, homage to classics, stellar soundtrack, heartfelt werewolf film by a legend in indie horror. Slower in pace and prioritizes character over bloodshed. Practical effects and animation over cgi. Definitely not for everyone but is a huge reason why I love film. Creativity and heart over spectacle. Socially and philosophically charged.

The Penguin - 8.5/10
The Substance - 9/10
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes - 7/10
Hit Man - 8/10

Saw some good stuff recently quite happy.

Looking forward to the Substance

Meant to see it Friday but trucks tranny went out 😭

Absolutely hated Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Didn’t even finish it. It’s one of 3 films I’ve walked out on.

I just didn’t care for anything or anyone.

Curious to see what you'll make of Substance tbf RtM. I think you'll appreciate it takes some pretty wild swings even if you are less thrilled about it than I am

Should see it some time this week. I’ll let you know.
