OK the story arc I saw (non canon) sounded very similar to that except that younger Han is an Imperial officer of some kind who decided to free Chewie and quit the Empire, embarking on a life of smuggling with Chewie.
Either way whatever story they do it will be some kind of variation of that I'd imagine, with or without Han being part of the Empire.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep they could very easily change a fit bits of the story to make it more marketable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah the sky's the limit in terms of what they do with it. Hopefully we see a morally ambiguous scoundrel Han. The one that shot Greedo. I don't want to see him as a good guy. His transition into good guy happens in Episode 4.

Just keeping the thread on topic. It's nothing personal. I just want to talk about movies and TV shows on this thread and I'm pretty sure that's all the regular posters here want as well

Solo has never been a bad guy. He is a smuggler. Smugglers go where the cash is. He is an opportunist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's more of a rogue than a bad guy
He's never been a bad guy but pre Episode 4 wouldn't describe him as good either.
Amoral as opposed to immoral.

Agreed. If they get the right actor then the sky's the limit as to where they can go with his origins story. Boba Fett, Jaba, even a young Lando can all be involved as well plenty of other characters we haven't seen before.
Speaking of rogues how interested are people in the Rogue One movie? Details are still a but sketchy but we know it involves rebels stealing the plans for the death star.

Anyone see the GoT final episode?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Haven't seen any of series 5 yet. Heard it started slowly.
Just been busy with Vikings, Daredevil and Bates Motel but will get through GoT season 5 very quickly now I'd imagine
I've got through both Vikings and DD and looking for something good to fill the void they've left as both shows are just brilliant.
Will start on Hannibal at some point as haven't seen any of that yet. Hope its as good as everyone says, been avoiding it as have a feeling I won't like it as much as the movies.
Couldn't get into Agents of Shield and Joss Whedon's recent comments about Agents of Shield essentially being a different universe to the MCU show me that the TV show is probably doomed.
The Agent Coulson that's alive and we'll in Agents of Shield is long dead in the MCU after he died in Avengers Assemble. According to Whedon himself anyway so that basically invalidates the Agents of Shield TV show.
By the way Agent Carter is much better than Agents of Shield and unlike Agents of Shield probably has a long term future at this point with series 2 on the way soon.
That's all in the TV show though.
Whedon himself has said that Agents of Shield is essentially not connected to the MCU. Regarding Coulson he said:
"Yeah he’s dead. The entire television series is just a fever dream. It’s a Jacob’s Ladder moment he’s having at the point of death, but we don’t give that away until after season seven. And there’s a snow globe. Now I’ve given it away".
Sh'it do I need to put a spoiler warning in that comment ?

That's because in the film shield has been destroyed and gone underground to rebuild. It's still in the MCU but the TV show interacts with the film but not the other way around.
-------------------------------
Seems to me that the MCU totally ignores the show and every single character in it.
In Ultron we didn't even get a hint of any of the characters in Agent of Shield existing. None at all.
If Coulson is still alive in the MCU then he wasn't even referenced in Winter Soldier or Ultron.

Also Coulsen could return in future films as Whedon is now finished and the Russo brothers taking over for 'phase 3' of MCU
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Time will tell and hopefully you're right but for the duration that Whedon was overseeing everything Coulson and everyone in Agents of Shield don't currently exist in the MCU and that comes from Whedon himself
I'd love to see Coulson back in the MCU though. Thought he was missed in Ultron.
Just to add that no Agents of Shield characters have been acknowledged to exist or still be alive in any of the Marvel movies since Avengers Assemble when Coulson died.
That includes Iron Man 3, Thor: Dark World, Captain America: Winter Soldier or Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Coulson being brought back to life in the TV show has yet to be acknowledged even once in any of the MCU movies.
That's all fairly damning and I'd say that the Agents of Shield TV show is living on borrowed time unless there is some plan to acknowledge Coulson and co in Captain America: Civil War as part of phase 3.
