Just read the Malazan Book of the Fallen series
If you want good fantasy stuff switch to anime/manga
....seems a broad statement. There's tons of awful anime/manga
I've listed my choices before sigh
As have you

Finished season 4 part 2 of Vikings now and fully up to date waiting for season 5.
To be honest, the second half of season 4 was my least favourite string of episodes since season.
The sons of Ragnar are so far weak characters for me, Ivar just annoyed me as an actor, he over acted every scene and expression.
The actual plot was good though, and sets up the next series well with how it ended.
Vikings has lost its two biggest characters in Ragnar and King Ecbert and I have to agree Ragnar younger sons just don't cut it.
One of most odd plots was when they got to Spain and Muslim rulers who were in the mosque just kept preying while there women and child were getting raped and kidnapped. Very unrealistic that.
War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) .
Director : Matt Reeves
A enjoyable if alittle all to predictable effort once again from Planet Of the Apes prequel director Matt Reeves. With the customary outstanding CGI effects and the noteworthy performances from Serkis, once again starring as the powerful yet sentimental figure of Caesar, accompanied him with the usual motion captured digitally rendered Apes and typical blockbuster third act explosions give this film a visual feast for the eyes.
Just a shame, as noted, that the story seems all a little to familiar and by the numbers. With un-needed shifts in tone with Bad Ape as the films obvious comic relief (a slightly less annoying Jar-Jar Binks in ape form) and a somewhat underwhelming performance from the usually charismatic Woody Harrelson as the films main antagonist, who's clearly citing Brando's Colonial Kurtz from Coppola's Apocalypse Now (a loose adaptation of Joseph Conrad's bleak novel Heart Of Darkness),leaves this film feeling heavily reliant on Serkis's individual performance. Thankfully for the films sake Serkis duly obliges with his strongest performance yet as Caesar.
But narratively speaking I was just hoping for something with little more edge and originality, hard to come by I know.
The film isn’t without its charm. With the customary nods and winks ,in which we're now witnessing in a lot of recent prequel films ,should give some joy to the Planet Of The Ape fanbase and it was nice to see young Cornelius in his naive youth witnessing the rise of the new dominant species.
Still with alot of prequels coming out recently (ahem, Prometheus/Covenant/Bore One) this trilogy has, at the very least, got the right intentions. The films, though having the occasional sense of being formulaic at times, are both enjoyable while having its heart in the right place and for most maybe that's all it ever really needs.
I mean it is a film about talking Apes taking over the World with the ironic twist of having humans reverting back into primitive state of mind and appearance.
★★★½

Worth looking into this i guess. The show is one of the better researched historical shows on tv (yes they've done some weird sh't i know) so i'd like to know the whole point behind that sequence.
Are there any completely pacifist sects in Islam?
Good write up, I enjoyed the film all in all too, whilst being predictable but there aren't many films that don't fall under that category any more.
Was a bit like an Ape version of Shawshank/Prison Break for a good portion of it though
Bjorn is my issue tbh. I like Ivar and Jonathan Rhys Meyers is in it next season
From Bend it Like Beckham to VIkings

To be honest I don't know the history behind the Vikings attack of Spain. I just found it odd that the men were pacifist. There was some brutal wars for the Muslims to get Spain so I doubt they would have allowed that to happen so easily.
Just on season 4. The killing scene of Ragnar was one of the best bit of TV I have ever seen.
On this last bit half season though,
The Odin sequence is my favourite bit from the whole show
And the whole of Ragnar's last episode was brilliant
Said this elsewhere but i dont like how they've turned Lagertha into Daenerys mk II. Pretty clear she is dying soon though

Depends what films you're watching
Dunkirk looks good, though (or shall I say 'unkirk' as the films trailer was hopelessly projected on the Cinama screen last night )
Seeing Dunkirk in imax on Friday
I'm seeing Dunkirk on Tuesday next week, possibly IMAX.
I assumed it would be quite a lengthy film which those kind usually are, but it's only 1hr40 so not much build up I imagine.
This is very short for a Nolan film
Kash tbh the whole thing seemed to be just a set up to further Flokis story arc. Ive heard hes meant to be like an avatar of the gods or something now
