I'm not giving it any priority, the Netflix Marvel shows all flattered to deceive (although a virtuoso David Tennant performance did help rescue Jessica Jones), this one look average to poor from everything I've read

Narcos Season 3 next week
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just got a notification to say the same
Things are getting very strange at Warner Brothers. In the last couple of days we've heard about a standalone Joker movie being produced by Martin Scorsese himself and will be set in the 80's for some reason. It's being touted as a gritty drama and will tell Joker's origin.
BUT it won't be part of the DCEU and will be it's own independent story and totally separate.
Then we get an announcement of a Joker and Harley Quinn movie that will bring back Jared Leto as the Joker as well as Margot Robbie. This movie will be part of the DCEU.
Wtf ???
Oh and then there's also The Batman director Matt Reeves saying that his Batman movie will also be independent of the DCEU. Which means that it will star a new actor as Batman and will have nothing to do with Ben Affleck's Batman or that universe.
In other words it looks like we're going to get two Batmans and two Jokers at the same time in totally different movie universes.
I just can't see this as anything other than a giant mess. Unless I'm getting my wires crossed this seems to be what Warner Brothers are actually going ahead with.
Ok it looks like Matt Reeves made a statement on Twitter that The Batman will be part of the DCEU just that it will be it's own exclusive Batman story and not include other DCEU good characters making a cameo etc. Makes more sense now.

We've seen this sort of thing occur in the Marvel universe most notably with X men and Spiderman. Both were marvel movies but not part of the Marvel Universe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They were part of Sony that's why. Warner Bros leaving out their own movie is stupid.

Mirror (1975)
Director :Andrei Tarkovsky
Andrei Tarkovsky's 4th feature Mirror is a loose autobiographical film.
It's arguably Tarko's most non linear production while being his most intimate. With a unconventional narrative that shifts between what the viewer may perceive as reality and what he/she may ,also, perceive as dream state.
We perceive these realities and flashbacks through the main characters. The interviewer-who's persona is open for question-,the mother (Margarita Terekhova) and the son (Ignat Daniltsev). Each one with their own characteristics and situations.
From the Son's perspective at least, a son still longing for his fathers return, he seems solemn and shy.
A contrast from Tarkovsky's earlier feature Ivan's Childhood. Where Ivan is ignorant, naïve yet strong willed Ignat portrays polar opposite characteristics.
Throughout the course of the film we are accompanied by images of the past depicted in grainy black and white archive footage such as the infamous Great Patriotic War and beautifully crafted poems from Tarkovsky himself read out loud ,likely by Anatoly Solonitsyn (Andrei Rublev,Solaris,Mirror,Stalker),over specific scenes for added depth.
Both are escapisms in the film especially with the shots harking back to the Great Patriotic war, indicating for the two main characters atleast, what one person has lived and struggled through another is born from.
While also portraying the importance of historical time and personal time for the leads.
The art design is naturally breathtaking. With Tarkovsky adding a great depth and character in his structures that look and feel lived in while simultaneously having a essence of installation art. There’s beauty to be found even in the most underappreciated or decayed places, outside and in.
This is largely down to Georgy Rerberg ,the Cinematographer on the Mirror. Who’s eye for composition of details and colours in a scene is to be admired and the comparisons between Anthony Dod Mantle's later work on Lars Von Trier's film Antichrist are strongly evident here.
One of my favourites shots in the film infact revolves around the simplicity of a breeze flowing through different shades and heights of grass towards the viewer as Solonitsyn ,The Doctor, is standing motionless, with briefcase in hand, looking back with interest and appreciation towards the simplicity in what he is witnessing.
The film finally finds it's conclusion and as a viewer you're left with a sense of seeing someone’s philosophy and their very self, irrespective of its figments, on screen. As previously mentioned this film is not conventional. Even in this short review the words used to describe certain elements/concepts could still be viewed as witling down the film in a simple critique when there is clearly more to witness and take in. The fact there are moments I've yet to write up clearly suggests this film has the ability to offer something new on each, different viewing.
This film wont be for everyone though. The fact some might argue there's no actual story, in the conventional way, being told could put viewers off. Though I would advise anyone new getting into Tarko to, naturally, start at his earlier work and build up from there ie Ivan's Childhood,Andrei Rublev and Solaris.
Personally I enjoyed (subjective) the film (Mirror). The Mirror has great depth, personality and a soul while generally embracing everything I’ve come to expect in Tarko’s work through impressive set design, beautifully well crafted shots, sympathetic acting (honestly all his characters tend to be sympathetic) and with the usual graceful yet direct literal and metaphorical dialogue accompanied with questions about who and what we are and the lives we’re all living.
