Sandy....is not done runs....quality of oppo....not outs and such.
Anyhow....seems mad that we have won the ashes and so many of the line up places under threat....
Lythe....out
Bell....under threat
Butler....under threat
Finn....question marks
Moeen...bowling wise under threat.....but shld be batting higher up.

Smith is overrated. Root is better then him everyone knows that!
Flat track bully smith is....like all these players on show...can only shine when pitch suits the way they play.
Only difference is Aussie bowlers have genuine express pace.....so if they hit the right line and length they will cause damage.
Broad out. One more to go.
Moeen is out and Oz win the match. Well done.
But a bigger well done to England for winning the Ashes.
Hardly say Smith is a flat track bully, he has scored runs all over the world. Root still has to do it away from England. I don't particularly rate this England team, and reckon without English conditions they will struggle against Pakistan and South Africa.
Fair play though thy won the ashes against the odds.
All over the world where it don't hoop around.....any movement and he's been found out over here.
At the start of the summer who gave England a hope of winning a match never mind the series? A fantastic effort and some good indicators of a successful team in the making. A work in progress but English cricket fans are buzzing again.
Well done England, a well deserved series victory with a consolation win to the Aussies to finish. Both teams will be a bit different by the next Ashes battle, enjoy minding them for us for a while
Interesting comments on Smith being found out though. Didn’t they just play in the same five games, on the same tracks, yet Smith scored more runs, with two scores higher than Roots best.
Each entitled to our own opinions, I suppose, but the facts speak for themselves
See you in a few years
Will, fair play, great series win. However, overall you have to say that it's an ashes series which highlighted both teams are average and inconsistent at best, with individual brilliance deciding the series in the end (broad, Anderson and Root). England should be aiming for the number 1 spot within the next 18 months, but the likes of lyth, bell, buttler, bairstow, stokes and to some extent Moeen are all cause for concern.
Great series victory, but lots to think about going forward
On a flat deck that wasnt really doing much....when it was moving off the seam or swinging...he....admittedly like most others were going hard at the ball and nicking off.
Root and buck were the only players that looked like they can adapt there games.....if I was an aus selector. I'd be in rogers ear trying to talk him round.
Ozziewhite,
All ifs and buts for the Aussies. Two huge victories in the two tests you won. Cardiff one you were well in it, but the haddin dropped catch was a huge turning point.. If the batsmen showed the same grit and desire your bowlers did in that series you'd have been returning home with the urn.

Easy to say after the event Afridi, but agree with you Australia batted poorly in the conditions when it counted.
Also agree that really both sides are below par and don't play well away from their own favoured home conditions. I would expect quite a few changes in both teams before we meet again.
I don't watch the ODI stuff, so can turn my attention to Derby next week MOT

Appears that they have just taken the ashes only and not any of the other series? Doesn't include of is or any other major tournament. Still, annoying. Don't mind who has it, as long as it's all in one place. This doesn't appear that way
They have the away ashes ffs
Ffs.....getting right fooked off with BT....
I guess you all know BT have the exclusive rights to the CL this term...
I'll worry about the champions league when the mighty Leeds United return back to the glory days... Until then BT will be live streamed on the Internet
