Stones won't be better than Terry, for fack sake.

At the moment Smalling is better than both, although he does looks very clumsy with the ball at his feet.

I expect Stones to be better than both, though.

Smalling is the best of the 3 by a stretch atm

We've been waiting a long time for this sort of form from smalling whereas stones hit the ground running when he was put into the Everton team not too mention stones dosent appear to be as injury prone which is a big plus

Smalling has found some form in an anti footballing system.

That said, this anti footballing system seems to have done wonmders for Smalling.

He is far better defensively and has improved massively with the ball at his feat.

Maybe those talented CB's at dippersville need to adopt our system so that Stoke and West Ham don't thrash them all over the place.

Jones shouldn't even be mentioned in this. He should have left with Evans this window

Defensively, I think anyone who is better than Terry will be a beast. However, I doubt any of them will get near. Also, as an outsider, it always makes me laugh that people don't see how good Terry is with the ball at his feet. The only thing he ever lacked was pace. It'll be interesting to see if his loss of form this season is just that or if he's lost that edge in his speed of thought which is really important for a player like him who depends on his positioning and reading of the game.

So Mourinho trying to buy Stones doesn't mean Stones has been playing amazing for the last two seasons. Defensively he's not that good.

Could improve in Mourinho's bus, of course, and has potential to improve.

But the Stones of now isn't a particularly good defender. People are blinded by his ball skills. He's a bit like Luiz.

Smallings started the season well but Stones edges it for me,
defensively he's very good in the tackle, making blocks, reads the game well AND he can play football

Phil Jones shouldn't even be in this he's awful

As far as England is concerned I think it should be stones and Smalling starting based on current form

I don't think people underestimate Jones' ability, but i think his effectiveness is very underrated.

Sure it's based on pure physical strength and size, but it does work. Not all that is effective is samba.

Jones doesn't deserve to be mentioned beside the other two, Smalling snd stones two excellent young defenders Jones is Hodor
