Defensively speaking, Smalling eats Stones for breakfast right now. But Stones looks like an absolutely brilliant prospest as a ball playing centre half.
Everton are great to watch as a neutral. Capable of so much and also so capable of horror shows. Certain to be entertained either way. Fond of them.
There are plenty of season ticket holders that go to games and don't know what the fack they are talking about**
This is starting to become very evident
Plus we can see his mistakes on motd.

There we go!
There we go what? It's just further evidence of his lack of defensive ability.

To be fair, if ever a players mistakes were going to be highlighted, a highlights show is where to find them.
Anyway, don't isolate parts of certain comments and ignore other ones. It makes your argument look weaker and you cowardly. Tackle the full statement.
I'm saying its a nonsense article.
It's like comparing our Gomez with Coleman and Clyne.
They are all at different stages of their career so it's silly.
But then Yeah Yeah thinks Everton have 5 world class players so why I'm trying to reason with him I don't know.
Robbing's using VC's tactic.
righteous, yeah they are all at different stages of their careers so it's not a great comparison.
Everton have five world class players? Who?
Darren is actually one of the more knowledgeable posters on the board so I will certainly be looking a lot closer at stones defending the next time Everton are on the box

I hope he can kick on and improve as England are lacking cb's but just never really seen the fuss over him.
People are talking like he's a world class cb when he's far from it, and understandably so given his age and lack of experience.
Great to see an English defender that can pass a ball like he can but that isn't my biggest concern if he's going to struggle against top opposition.
Granted Martinez can't organise a defence very well so it doesn't help but I wouldn't be that confident if he were starting for us at the Euros, for example.
Time will tell.
Jones would be good if he wasn't always injured.
Smalling is coming into his own but he's older than both of them anyway.
Stones has a lot of potential to be England's centre half for 10 years.
They're all at different ages so this is quite a stupid thread tbh.
Ages are irrelevant in my opinion once you're a regular in your team. Saying "this player will be great in 3 or 4 years" when they start every week is stupid. Can't live of hype forever. It's real life this, not a game where there's seasonal improvement. Stones does need a touch more playing experience, but given how often he's playing and given that he's a defender, he should be delivering to the fullest before long.
Come on lads - are you saying Smalling is world class now?
I would imagine if Stones had signed for United yesterday he would quickly become world class too
Everyone thinks they have the prettiest girlfriend ya know
he should be delivering to the fullest before long**
Agreed - bookmark the article, give it a year, 2 years max and this won't be a debate anymore
I think put Stones in LVG's 'philosophy' then he'd flourish.
I feel he is a better reader, better timer of his challenges and has greater acceleration on the turn than Smalling. Probably why he's far better at rb tbh.
Why who is far better at right back?
Nobody said Smalling is world class and I certainly wouldn't say Stones is if we signed him.
Darren
I can't remember all 5 but Stones, Baines, McCarthy and Lukaku were four of them I think.
Im sure Yeah Yeah will remember. Although this was a while ago so the number might be up to 8 now
He's never been able to explain why with all these World Class players Everton are not achieving anything.
It's crazy how world class defenders start looking when they get decent protection in front of them...

I only made the comment earlier this year - you'll see within time you're already seeing it with Stones, Lukaku and Barkley wont be far behind and you can add Deulofeu to that list now aswell
I know its not trendy for Everton to have world class players but they cant all play for Man United and Liverpool
We haven't got any now sadly.
United have one, thanks to Windows 95.
Nothing to do with being trendy, you just don't have any.
