Well Done Edwards

Don't think anyone would disagree with that bute.

But he had still lost his magic and it was very tiresome falling behind early week after week.

It was time for change, we made the move too late, it was obviously over in December and had we moved then we very likely would have got a manager in who had time to work rather than try and makes fools out of Bruce and co.

Anyway, seeing as Wolfie and co are reflecting on past managers, and possible scenarios, we could think back to the halcyon days of the Prem, and ask ourselves, "what is the worse that could have happened had we not sacked MM in the early part of February?"

My own view is that, even if we'd still been relegated, I can't possibly imagine him having taken the side down into Division 3.

If we had been relegated he would have been sacked anyway and even if we hadn't I think that it would have been difficult for him to carry on.

February with no plan was the wrong time to sack him and those that celebrated him going then have been backtracking and looking for reasons to justify it ever since - it wasn't the sacking that was the problem it was replacement - but a throw of the dice by Morgan was looking more and more likely whatever happened between Feb and May.

Still blaming Solbakken and not the players DJ, who by the way were the ones on the pitch. If professional footballers cannot pass the ball to each other, (no matter who the manager is) then there is a huge problem. Most of that squad were so used to hoof ball tactics for years. Actually passing the ball, which is what SS wanted, was alien to many of them.

And before anyone comes on here and asks why did I criticize a certain manager. There' a whole difference between being in charge for 6 years as apposed to 6 months.

Agreed. Poor managers don't usually last very long. I don't think anyone expected him to be sacked so quickly.

Should have given him a minimum of 3 years like Gene wanted.

We really did waste a chance to rebuild as a part time team.

I think most of us would like to see KJ have a lengthy run as boss.

Should have given him the season thats for sure.

Neither Iorfa or Hause start or on the bench for U21's. Shame, but leaves them injury free for Saturday.

But then we might have survived and you know how much worse off we'd be if we hadn't been relegated!

Not panicking about an injury to one of our CBs are you Gene?

Bit off topic too. Good job I don't make a fuss about that on my threads.

You know my opinion - sacking the manager part way through the season very rarely works and should be done as an absolute last resort.

Hopefully we've learned our lesson from MM and SS going and things going downhill both times and we won't be swapping horses mid-way through a race for a long time to come.

They're Wolves players Bute and the talk of managers is a bit off topic too, as this article is/was about Edwards.

Yep cinci agrees with that which Is why he was calling for McCarthy to be sacked in December 2011

Agreed with the timing being wrong DJ

Maybe we should discuss why you would have been happy to see Mick sacked in his second season in the job?

posted on 7/9/15

DJ wanted him sacked in his second season in the job??? Wow, maybe Burke could dig that up from somewhere.

posted on 7/9/15

No maybe we shouldn't discuss that cinci, if you recall it was you that agreed with tatters comment that a manager shouldn't be sacked mid season, not me.

So why did you say you agreed with tatter when you clearly don't

I agree, it should be a last resort, and certainly not in February

I agree

Wolfe, I don't mind how the thread deviates - I was pointing out your own hypocrisy!

I'm also uncomfortable with your "Burke" reference regarding DJ, as its the 2nd time you've used it, and you delete posts from others for "perceived" insults.

I'll leave the posts for now, but I will continue to monitor the situation.

posted on 7/9/15

Burke is not a reference to DJ at all. It does however refer to my filtered guy, who constantly digs up comments from the past and sometimes from over 4 years ago.

Remember Burke and Hare, the grave diggers who dug up bodies to gain favours?

posted on 7/9/15

Cinci why have you posted something again that's already on this thread?

I understand exactly what you are saying. That you were calling for McCarthy to be sacked in December when around half the games of a season have been played, but you agree a manager should not be sacked mid race
