"Powdery wares" - perhaps that explains the banners.......????

Not sure about TEFL helping the OP in his grasp of humour, but a starter-level diversity programme would sort out his stereotyping.

It takes something special to win 5 big European trophies alright, that's something ALL the London teams put together can get nowhere near...now that's pretty special!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How many of those were you alive for?

Liverpool win the European Cup in 1977, so obviously the club manager and fans in 2015 are special.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Obviously. That title was probably even more impressive than the undertakers streak so why not cling to it

Hector is one of the most desperate Liverpool haters out there

His constant 'help me hate the scousers' bleating is getting lamer by the post.

I think the aura is still thinking you're something special after not winning the league for 25 years.

What traits set the Scousers apart from the English, in Scouse opinions?

Genuine question here, would be interesting to hear.

Every big city is different from the others in subtle ways, but none more so than any other in my opinion

I was born in Liverpool and neither of my parents are English. As a City, we face out to sea and look to Ireland and New York for inspiration rather than looking inwards at London.
Personally I've never felt any affiliation with England. I remember Thatching shafting us over again and again which made me further reject England.
On a football front our greatest manager was a Scot, our greatest player was a Scot. The first ever eleven players to put on the Liverpool shirt were Scottish.
England "fans" had the audacity to boo John Barnes and that for me was the final nail.
Saying all that, the banner was light hearted. We had Spanish flags on the kop when Rafa was the boss.
