Utter nonsense
Like she destroyed manufacturing, the usual myth, although when she left office manufacturing output was higher than when she took office
The unions did far more damage to this country than mrs thatcher

Rubbish, she was the most divisive PM in this country's history, her personal feud with unions led to mass unemployment on an unprecedented scale, and created ghost towns overnight, ensuring generations of benefit claimants, she was a dictator plain and simple, "get in line or I'll crush you"

So you're happy with the price of your utility bills then, as well as your council tax, cost of rail travel etc etc?

You clearly don't remember the blackouts in winter and rubbish piling up on the streets of the late seventies under the unions sorry labour!

Maggie culled the heavy industries without a thought for the miners, ship-builders or steel workers, a wee bit of foresight and these guys could have been retrained en-masse but no, she wanted to crush the workers for daring to pay dues to a union.
Her vindictiveness allowed the bankers to be the main contributors to the country's economy and encouraged their arrogance, how did that work out?

United > England

I really don't see any great difference between that statement that I've seen on t-shirts, and the LFC banner stating scouse not English.

You seriously DON'T understand the difference between "greater than" and "not a part of"?

Yes labour handled the bankers Brilliantly didn't they.

The biggest recession in decades.

They are both as bad as each other.

We don't have a diverse economy thanks to Maggie, all our eggs are in one basket so when the banks crashed...
Not defending Labour just pointing the finger of blame at Her.

As long as it's conducted in a gentlemanly manner, whats the harm?

posted on 18/10/15

United > (greater than) England. The sentiment behind that and scouse not english are essentially the same in that both parties regard their club with increased loyalty than the country in which they play, and are, as such, placing greater importance on their local origin.

You could call it parochialism, but aren't we all guilty of that to some extent?

Onan

I disagree with your interpretation.

Loads of fans put club before country, few fans deny their nationality.

posted on 18/10/15

Not denying my nationality. I just don't feel any belonging to it.
