Is weird how in the last two series BoB and Ob1 the lead character is more of a sideline.

Kathleen Kennedy clearly doesn't like white males getting too much glory or shine. Or black males for that matter when you look at how horribly sidelined Finn's character became over the Disney trilogy.

Yeh if these are the quality we hope - I pray Disney do the right thing and just give the boys the whole SW franchise, because surely it can't be that glaring obvious the difference between what they do and what other people who maybe don't understand SW do. Honestly I would love to be a fly on the wall seeing Jon and Dave's reactions to OB1 - I think it's one of those Zoom meetings where they politely make an excuse and turn their cameras off

It seems part of a wider agenda to me though to keep pushing this PC bullcrap in our movies and media at the expense of quality. In any normal world Kennedy would have been fired a while back.

Under her rule at Lucasfilm we've seen Star Wars regress badly, become highly politicised and hated by many loyal fans as well as lose money or not make the sort of money it should have. But still they go down this same strange route regardless.

It would have been so much easier and lucrative for them to just make high quality Star Wars content that the fans love. But no.

Here’s a question the answers to which I feel will tell us a fair bit:

how many, if any of us, are completely buzzing off Obiwan? Not perfection, granted, but really enjoying it like Clone Wars (2003 or 2008) say?

Some may like it more than I do but I bet hardly anyone or no-one here is fully loving it.

If I’m right, I think that says a lot that none of us fking love it all wholeheartedly and we’re Star Wars fans. More critical we may be; but if done right, we’re also the most pleased & excited. Vader vs obi fight for example: explanations aside, it wasn’t great but all of us loved it in part because of what it was.

Is it a getting old thing or is the essence of what captured us simply no longer likely to be delivered? (Probably both)

I have small moments where I feel a buzz but I feel flat at the end of every episode honestly.

At the same time as watching this I've watched Stranger Things, The Boys and Ms Marvel and all of them objectively make Kenobi look kinda stupid.

Exactly this. The boys is ridiculous in itself but is so watchable and enjoyable with great characters.
You have everything at your fingertips, and this is what you serve up? That’s 10 fold words then creating a film from scratch that’s awful.

I watched 5 mins… Superb, it’s hurting my soul.
firstly they still got 2 eps to save themselves, and I think most would forgive them.
But if they screw it up, there needs to be a riot/protest on an unprecedented scale.

Have to say that killing off the main GI was a mistake. We would have been better served if they were a smooth operation rather than a bunch of squabbling children.

The Writer, whose been talking a lot, has also said, or has indicated that the GI is alive..sort of.
You know it’s looking more and more like the GI will be a different person…. Of exactly the same race.

What can we say to that? I mean, of all the holes that are suddenly, and unnecessarily popping up, they can kinda get away with that I guess.

and that’s the double whammy with this show.
Writing issues sure. But the Production for the most part is just lousy. Direction. Editing . It’s that what making the actors look lousy.
It’s distressing.
Watched Hustle last night. You could say it has a similar Star Wars vibe about it. And you felt the relationship.
Good film.

Yeah Hustle is very good

Finished the Thrawn trilogy last night. Liked the little Noghri twist at the very end. Was a good read, decent pace and some good characters introduced.

In my head she looks like the lass in the new Jumanji movies.

Jason Isaacs is as good as it gets when it comes to playing a hammed up bad guy. Infinitely watchable.

And another thing about the Wade scene.
And bad Direction.. The other pilot, Rose Ticos Grandma.
She’s way too emotional for combat. Where’s the professionalism. When Wade, comes to help and give her and Obi-Wan the chance to escape, you can hear the fear in her voice.
Wouldn’t a combat pilot be switched on in that moment.
And then she loses it when he dies.

Now check Luke Skywalker in a New Hope. Look how switched on he is. Telling Wedge to get out, he’s useless back there. He’s seen multiple Rebels die around him, stays composed. His best mate Biggs dies.
He takes a moment, no screaming, no tears, but composes himself with the task at hand.

I mean, Luke flew in the same Snow Speeder with a dead co-pilot ffs, and he still went to into battle, and got shot down.

But she, gets way to emotional for me. No way would I want her as my Wing-man…Wing-Person.
