I have enjoyed it personally and think a lot of the criticism is a little daft.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you enjoyed it more than Mando season 1 and 2?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
About the same. But like i have said, i think Mando gets overhyped.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m with Cinci
Yeah, that is the problem with massive characters and trying to fill holes between movies, if you end up with someone not in tune with the franchise then it can become a bit of a mess.
Its not even competent writers, its arrogant writers.
Now first off, there is zero excuses for being the writer of OB1 and NOT having seen all the films....strike 1
Now even if he had seen them all, even if it anyone on here writing it and had seen them all multiple multiple times, he would still have or should have a fact checker. So the massive numerous continuity breaks should come up in pre writing stages. That writer can then take that on board or ignore it. and if they ignore they are making a huge mistake cos this isnt a run of the mill franchise that can be treated as such. strike 2
You cannot call the show OB1 and bill it as OB1 v Vader and then have that be the side story or even share it with another storyline. strike 3

Just think it was very slow paced and there were a lot of filler episodes. The plus side being it wasn't so easy to ruin continuity with new characters. And of course the shameless marketing of a little cute toy.

Look at most of the OB1 criticism, it's continuity based.
No issue there with Mando.
Disney need to jump to a different timeline then they can make smash hit after smash hit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Louder criticism is continuity based because it's so glaring but there are a myriad of other issues with the show.
Music is non existent
Reva and Leia storylines spanning the whole season
Filler episodes
Bad writing
Terrible action/chase scenes

How would you rate it thus far mate?
I’m sticking with my prediction which was 6/10 - generally a bit blah with a handful of moments that are excellent for Star Wars fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah it's average, entertaining enough that I sit down to watch it when it's convenient...
Not so good that I rush to watch it on release day, 6/10 is bang on
I can't put Obi Wan on the same level as Mando, personally. Even objectively, Mando was written and directed better.
Also, that episode where Leia was outrunning people just made me so facking unreasonably angry.
can vader kill the director/writer next episode?
the chase scenes in both Book of Boba ad OB1 have been some of the worst iv seen on any show with a hint of a budget.

I thought I was high or something or just generally confused. It was worse than a cartoon baddie failing to catch the good guy.
3 or 4 bounty hunter types outrun and out dodged by a small child who is built more like a 7 year old than 10.
Force sensitive or not, it was a disgrace.

Yeah that’s a good way to judge it:
Rushing to watch it on release day must be an 8/10
Not rushing 4/10
Not re-watching (this applies to me with the sequels) 3/10 or 2/10 given it’s fking Star Wars
People say that back in the day the prequels got a lot of stick and they did. But I still watched them all a couple of times at the cinema and have watched them a disturbing amount since.
Sequels? Haven’t re-watched any of them all the way through once. Not even 5 mins of 8&9. TFA I’ve watched in bits since but not a lot.

Yes I'd like to know too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally I think all of us when in with expectations of who OB1 should be 10 years on from RotS. View on how his character should have developed because we have such well-known reference points with the prequels, The Clone Wars and ANH. Even the Rebels series gave us a snapshot of OB1.
It was always going to be a difficult ask that they made significantly more difficult by some really questionable creative choices.
Mando is/was overhyped imo because there are dull episodes but damn, they get the big moments right. The pay off moments work. The use of well known and much loved characters was really good - from Luke to Ashoka to Boba; all well managed imo. But there was so much more freedom in the creative. They didn't have the continuity rules that OB1 has (not that they've observed all those rules...).
Perhaps it's more simply put like this. Mando allowed people to create a new element of the star wars universe and story, allowed the watcher to expand the SW story. I think it's the reason some go a little over the top about Mando.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have serious misgivings that Disney are capable of hit after hit based on everything I've seen so far tbh. I still don't think they truly understand what Star Wars is.
that wasnt my experience. I didnt have any real pre-conceptions as to how OB1 was gonna be. I was confident that Ewan would pull it off. I dont have a problem with how he has been written to much tbf. If anythig not enough focus on him and his life tbf.
For me the reason im caning OB1 so hard is first of all the huge continuity errors , and they are small errors is actual decisions. the writer would have been aware about the errors and ignored them.
this to many folk is deal breaker from the get go (not for me entirely but I can certainly see why they react like that) but this then coupled with the shockingly poor creative writing and stupidity that ensues is all too much.
If they are gonna mess with lore then it needs to at least be written well.
I think all the actors other than Reva have done as good a job as they could with the material given. I have no idea of the chick that plays Reva , dont know what else she has done to reference but Im just not buying her at all.
*and they are ^NOT small errors is actual decisions
Do agree the production has been pretty poor at times and pretty amateurish/cheesy also. The Leia chase scene was pathetic and just didn't need to look that bad at all.
The lack of music is just odd given the opportunities.
The Reva actress is a good actress, but here she’s badly written, and sure, some of her choices are questionable. Sometimes she comes across like she’s in panto season.
But the Director should be helping her out, plus with the shoddy camera work. It’s a perfect storm of foolishness.
There’s not enough time given to developing new characters. Here we are towards the end and only now are we learning about her story….
shes going to sacrifice her self and save obi
OB1 was always going to be a hard show to pull off.
Literally we all thought he just sat in a cave watching Luke like a weirdo.
Anything that happened that wasn’t that would’ve had continuity issues etc.

Mando was definitely over hyped. They dropped many 5/10 episodes
