Skeleton Crew Ep 1 - 🤔….

I’ll give it a solid 8.0.
The production was brilliant, and the vibe, just feel good.
Yeh, kinda rips off Goonies… but man, if you gonna imitate, then go big, and imitate one of greats.
But a good start…

didnt even know this was released, heard something about it. but didnt finish Acolyte and have no desire to do so.

Think its safe to say that Star Wars is now just fading into silence !

Did I see that they are bringing out a season 2 of Obi Wan ?

I’m hearing a lot of foolishness.
At this point I think it’s only Ewan that wants it back, cos he knows it was a kaka flop. The issue here is that Ewan is brilliant as Obi Wan, so what do they do?
Disney are just throwing the brown stuff at the fan to see how we respond.
I can’t believe they still have no idea how to tell a good Star Wars story.
George Lucas, gave these ‘creatives’ the best playground to play in for any filmmaker…. I’m just astounded they still struggling.

Suddenly they produce something like Skeleton Crew… it’s giving me hope.

yeah but Iv seen some of your reviews!! your initial scores of some SW stuff is mental til you read the room or at least reflect more on what you watched.

lol see your starting it already ..... im just jesting ... But there was defo some episodes of (either book of Boba or Obi Wan) that you gave good scores then drastically changed it a day or so later.

Be wary people - I have started seeing some stuff that's talking about "bait and switch", hoping it's people trying to get clicks........but also at the same time it's Disney. Hope it's not as we need a win, but I was also somewhat ok with the first couple of episodes of Acolyte, and we know how that ended!

Tbf I think Stringer just gives the story the benefit of the doubt and it's not till later on that the things he reviewed turned out to be inconsequential or contradicted by something else that happens later on.

Skeleton Crew Ep 2.
So Disney doing their foolish random timings.. under 25 mins without credits. So loses marks for that, but stil an enjoyable Ep.
7.5/10

There’s actually an intriguing premise they have set up.
So, it’s kinda got me hooked to see how that plays out.
Apart from that it’s proper Disney whimsical fantasy stuff.
And again, the production values are just great and what we should expect of anything related to Star Wars.

So still early doors, waiting for the standard ‘Filler’ show, but a good start.

Anyone else watching Skeleton Crew?

Just on these first 2 eps, it’s the best anything of Star Wars since Mando s2. Yeh, it’s running neck and neck with Andor.
Why are the production values/ effects 100x better than what’s come before. Why this show?
Why was Kenobi, Mando S3, Acoshyte, Book of Boba, so much of a letdown and cheap looking?
There has to be an investigation, something just ain’t right.

I'm highly sceptical about a show for children being on par with Andor but I guess the bar has been significantly lowered.

Yeh you right, the bar is low, but I’m saying that with these 2 Eps, the look of it, the story has a potentially intriguing/ interesting twist.
Knowing what we know from previous shows, Yes, it could all go wrong.
There’s Easter eggs, nostalgia bait in there.. it’s very much in the mode of Goonies, Flight of the Navigator and Star Wars.
But it feels like it’s been done right, rather than a cheap trick/ rip off.

I’m thinking if this show was one of the first things Disney made, with Mando.. they’d be onto a good thing.

I'll wait for more episodes and reviews to come out before giving it a try.

But I gotta do spoiler chat fam….
And remember, how would a kid Guv react to a show like this. At the moment I think it hits all the right notes.
Now, you may be a bit cynical having been burned time and time again.. maybe even thinking going down the kid route is a cheap stunt…
Well that was my thinking when I heard this was being made. But it’s more adult than I thought it’d be.

The opening sequence alone sets that tone.
But gonna be interesting to see what you lot think aboot it…

The thing is.. everybody knows the 80’s/90’s were the best for kids TV. So, I’d imagine he’d be mister popular.
