loui..
we paid a lot of money for players and we are paying a lot in wages..
that should go a long way to guaranteeing success..
unfortunately it does not, it depends how well the money is spent..
given the wages difference yesterday between the two teams it was very hard to spot the difference in quality and effort..
the confidence should be very high and we should be setting out to win games and win them well. a draw should be what we end up with after trying from minute one to win the game.. not losing seems to be the overriding aim and should we start both halves as poorly as we did yesterday at sheff utd the game could be beyond us very early on..
they just looked a bit shocked that oldham could tackle, shift the ball quickly and support it, whilst playing some good attacking football.. it just seemed to be another day of turning up and standing about hoping the wage bill would win the game..
Talking of time wasting why are goal kicks allowed to be taken from whichever side the kicker wishes? I, unfortunately, remember when this was not the case. However now it is a further tool for time wasters as invariably the dead ball kick is taken from the opposite side to where the ball has gone out of play. Incidentally Oldham yesterday were playing for time even before they were reduced to 10 men - disgraceful for a home side.
That match was there on a plate and we didn't take it , shef u and charlton would have won that game 4.1 .
Your right Loui all the real contenders will beat the likes of Bury, Rochdale n Oldham.
I did not go yesterday so cannot comment on the game nor could i be harsed to listen to the wireless,
A quick check on the scores at half time and the TV in the clubhouse for full time after a nice leisurely game of golf, A nice bit of fresh air, excercise and a laugh for 4 hours for the same price as a ticket to the match to be ripped off watching in reality about 60 mins of footy.
It does not really say much about Lee Clarks record breaking Town sides current performances when 4 of us would rather spend our money playing golf, Indeed if we had not purchased season tickets i am quite sure iwe would be finding something better to do every saturday afternoon and would certainly not be paying the current walk up prices for third tier football.
Yes I do think more and more fans are starting to look after the penny's now more than ever b4 , when are football clubs going to realise we don't live in there world of prawn sandwiches and bling .
38,
time wasting . re-my thread in the World Cup on the old board,
The game I timed was a whisker over 22 minutes, Ridiculous .
I called for an independent time keeper too, &................
was shouted darn !
Fact.
The players who put in the most effort in the European games screened by ESPN are credited with 10 kilometres!
others, who come off to be 'sub'd' often come off with a figure of 7 or 8 kms... People (characters on here) told me my idea wasn't workable because they would be Kn4ck4r3d..!
RUBBISH.
These guys are supposed to be 'pros' (don't you dare Loui )
I walk 9kms in 70 minutes...come on! How does it go "TTC"...'It's not rocket science'..
I'm in your camp 38, 90 mins should = 90 mins.
Oh & Jacko,
The point i was trying to make was...Because Sheff United & MK are the pace setters at the moment, & already having a two game advantage over TOWN after 6 games..They are indeed who we have to beat.
To 'reel them back in'. & get closer to their points to games played ratio, I mentioned them as teams because they are 'at the top' & our next two fixtures on the road...IMO Must win games. But with a 4-5-1 formation I just can't see it.
Hope I'm wrong,
re-above...
22 minutes each half...(I remember saying at the time,, both halves didn't actually add up to 45 minutes )
darn.. i never saw ur old post but thats a disgrace tbh
