Probably because it has religious connotations and is basically there to suite a minority but fed to the majority.
That might have something to do with it.

what are the religious connotations?

The meat is blessed before it is killed. Blessed to the God the Christian nation Britain worships and the animals are treated more humanely than what you get in a slaughter house.
So, Christians will not be offended, same God, Atheists do not believe in God so should just chuckle at the silliness
Again, very similar to Kosher, but does not draw the same level of ire
So what exactly is the problem?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
mate kosher and halal are exactly the same.
kosher meat has more ''wastage'' due to not keeping certain cuts of the meat, this ALL ends up in supermarkets with no labelling
this isnt the medium for a debate 1 on 1 but i challenge anyone to bring an argument based on other than islamaphobia or as Henrys says above, ignorance and hatred
I doubt there's much wastage, surely the cuts not fit for the kosher market will find its way to the shops with a different badge on it.
Ultimately threads like this brings out all sorts. What annoys me is the peddling of lies when the facts are easily available.
A friend of mine joked (he's black) that first it was the Jews, then the Blacks, now the Muslims
It is funny if you look at bertrand smalls post he was upset that we allowed too many migrants from Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. Note he did not refer to USA, Western Europe, Scandinavia etc who are here as well.
Their migration is cool. Considering migrants make rup roughly 12% of the population and in Europe we are 7th in terms of countries with large migrant populations it makes you wonder why we are number 1 when it comes to being scared about migration
Really funny.

Tbh, I have no idea what cuts aren't suitable for kosher. But sausages are generally "everything else we can't sell to you on it's own as it's a bit gross" as I understand it.
And now I do.
Wow. Jewish folk never have sirloin or rump steak, poor sods. It appears they only eat the 'front half' of the animal - I doubt that the rest just gets made into sausage or chucked away - that's some quality cuts left over.
Ah, turns out that isn't right either: http://www.thekosheromnivoresquest.com/blog/cow-butts-are-kosher

I wasnt making it up mate. I have done huge research into religious slaughter.
I did it as part of a debate I had about cruelty to animals. I found that before the Hijaab ban in Paris there was an attempt to make religious slaughter an offence.
in 2005 the french agriculture something or other did a study and found that properly done religious slaughter is less cruel to teh animal than even stunning (stunning being a commercial issue ie more animals can be slaughtered). Based on this and teh Jewish lobby most of europe didnt apply it

ahh I see your confusion
research kashrut.
Basically foods are kosher and all parts of a kosher animal are kosher, however at certain times a kosher part isnt permisaable
so for example a bagel is allowed right? not during passover
obviously cnt go into detail here or it will be an essay
Also
The sciatic nerve and its adjoining blood vessels may not be eaten. The process of removing this nerve is time consuming and not cost-effective, so most American kosher slaughterers simply sell the hind quarters to non-kosher butchers.
The only problem was I didn't know what cuts were kosher, I didn't think you'd made anything up (weird).
I looked it up came up with and answer - and that was not quite right. Turns out what are normally non-kosher cuts, can be made kosher if the butcher cuts out the 'bad bits' (veins, fat, etc.) - hence the link.
"...so most American kosher slaughterers simply sell the hind quarters to non-kosher butchers"
Which is what I had assumed.
Poor sods will never know the absolute delight that is a bacon sarnie.
No wonder they pray over their food! Make it as tasty as smoked bacon deal Lord

Bullshīt,none of my friends or family would touch halal or kosher meat, none. You might not care what you eat but don't speak for the rest of us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unless you and they are vegetarian or vegan I call BS on your claim.
Supermarket meats often kosher and halal anyway just not labelled. Especially kosher as the whole animal isn't eaten
Takeaways buy what's cheaper too. So most of the Chinese, Thai places around me buy from the halal butchers/market. They use mainly chicken thigh meat and its cheaper.
Beside halal/kosher is better meat and if your argument is animal rights based then it is less cruel too
I would though like to hear why you are anti this meat
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is Halal meat better for you?
The RSPCA claim slaughtering unstunned animal is cruel,so where you get it's less cruel from God only knows. You do know majority of animals slaughtered for Halal meat is stunned?
I am a veggie, and my family only buy their meat from M&S where they label their meat. They also only buy British meat.
Had a horse steak, that was nice.

You cannot stun an animal for halal meat. The throat is slit
Why do you persist in making stuff up.
Your family only buys British meat? Like the mad cow variety?
You need to do some research
The overwhelming majority of animals killed using halal methods are stunned before killing; around 80 per cent, according to the British Veterinary Association.
That's taken from the Independent
I would post a video but you veggies will probably cry
People always whine about how animals need to be killed humanely
Have you seen a lion, hyena or Croc feed?
