If Man U REALLY WANTED Jose, surely they'd have taken him halfway through the transfer window. Maybe they see him as a fall back option if none of their real targets bear fruit they can rest in the knowlegde that nobody in their right mind would take Jose now after what he just did at Chelsea. He'll still be waiting by the phone in May

He really wouldn't, and I'm not in the slightest bit wound up.
He's not going to drop all that he's done at Spurs in the past couple of seasons when they are seemingly in the beginnings of something special, to come and manage a side who have a lot of sorting out and are in a poorer position to challenge. These aren't the days of United being the PL favourites and Spurs being their mid-table inferiors anymore.
