Heisenberg. Do you think LVG should be here next season

posted on 18/2/16

Surely they both done a poor job?

I'm not sure any comparative to the two is fair or worth it.

I don't see how you could lose to a team of midgets anyway? High balls into the box for 90 minutes, should've been easy. Yet more tactical ineptitude from LVG.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We desperately missed Fellaini today, you can't blame the manager for him missing the game. Fellaini would have just stomped on the midgets and we'd have been looking at a comprehensive cricket score to take back home.

Oh well, that's life.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fellaini would have been sent off after 5 mins with those elbows

That's bull and you know it. Loads of the players were blamed under Moyes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. People blamed Moyes for taking a team of champions to 7th. Nothing to do with the players going bad over night. Mudd can verify this as he was very vocal about it.

posted on 18/2/16

Of course Moyes was blamed. But so were the players. Suggesting otherwise is lying.

i am fully behind him yes

give him another season. and no mourinho. hey it's my view - shoot me

with less injuries and a few more additions to the squad he can turn it around next season and have us challenging for the title

i thought we had an outside chance this season based on our promising start to the season but that faded fast.

city have spent billions and they are only 6 points ahead of us. and liverpool are behind us
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank god your not in charge of the club, you'd have us in league 2 before you admitted Lvg is doing a bad job.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

if the alternative is hiring mourinho id rather we battle it out in league 2!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Christ are you for real mate?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

no...

Moyes badly handled a squad that was mainly Fergie's, he was doomed from day one as he wasn't the calibre of manager we needed.

Van Gaal has a big cross next to his name as he is getting nowhere near enough out of a group of players he has had the choice of keeping and selling.

I think he has mainly signed good players and got rid of the right ones, the problem is, we are desperately short of leaders and as someone pointed out earlier, a few <surfers> as we have now gone softer than a babies bottom. Oh, and his tactics are really not suited for the premier league at all.

I can.

I'll encourage the players to take risks
I'll buy a top CB
I'll buy a top striker.
I'll play attacking sides at OT

I won't purposely go into a season with a small squad as LVG said he did.

That might get us top 3 at least. I'll also ban you from all streams of the games until you return the key to the gimp cupboard.

I blamed the board.

Moyes should never have been put in that position in the first place as he wasn't good enough, but you can't blame him for taking the job.

His inexperience of managing a big club was his downfall, and again, the board should fave taken that on board.

As for the players they did take some flack, especially players like Rio, vidic and evra

posted on 18/2/16

It'd be triffic if we got someone like Arry in for a few months to keep Jose's seat warm.

ANYTHING INSTEAD OF VAN GAAL.

I do think Moyes would have done better in his second season had the troublemakers gone and he'd bought the players he wanted.

He was binned and LVG was brought in (in Woodwards words) as more of a guarantee of good football and challenging for trophies. Bar a ddg mistake Moyes would have made a cup final in his first season.

and who is this top CB? Stones? what if everton dont sell?

Ashley williams? what if he's like a fish out of water at a big club?

what if glazers tighten the pursestrings? what bargains could come in and make the step up? Mane? what if he is the next nani? you want mahrez? sorry he's going to PSG

what if your told you have to sell players to buy? who would you sell?

what if you were told that you had to play rooney for 90% of the games to fulfill contractual and sponsorship agreements?

what if carrick, mata, fellaini, bastien refuse to leave the club because they are on big contract and you can't sign a player until you sell them because they are too big an asset to sit on the bench?

what if smalling picked up an injury for the whole season, you'd have a new inexperienced defence. what if all out attacking meant they leaked 3 goals per game? what would you do?

hmm... if only it was like fifa or pes, but in pes you have to have good chemistry - what if your players hate each other?

football management, so easy eh

Robb, I never thought I'd be saying this, especially after how torrid the Moyes era was, but jesus I would take that over what we are seeing now.

He was managing in a stronger league I felt, Liverpool were amazing that year, Chelsea were solid and Man City were champions. Compared to this lot, Leicester and Spurs aside, nobody has really stood out.

posted on 18/2/16

No I don't Robb to be honest.

I don't think moyes actually believed he was good enough to manage utd.

I don't think had he spent what LVG has he would have done much better as I don't think he was strong enough mentally.

I felt sorry for moyes because like I said he was never good enough, but he was never gonna turn the job down.
After the first couple of months every time he stepped in front of the camera he looked like a man ready to crack and breakdown.

He may have done better than his first season but he was never gonna last

Its a lot easier than LVG makes it.

Even most of the stars of the Undatebles would know that

1) if Rooney is injured don't play him for 90 mins against Sunderland
2) if playing a must win game against Wolfsburg, don't bring on Powell, bring on Young
3) don't purposely go into a season relying on the youth players to get you out of jail

Totally agree. It was just a perfect storm that season. Moyes has said since he would have done things differently. I wonder if one day LVG will say the same

moyes had a somewhat half decent rvp and rooney

he also had evra and co and some experience in the squad

the team were champions too

but as the season went on we got worse, he cant blame injuries, he just went in to his shell. he was hiding. even in defeat LVG oozes authority and like he belongs at a big club

moyes was a weak inexperienced man, who dunc rightfully said should never have been given the job
