£250m is not nearly enough money? You are mental.

It's brought up because that's what he spent on players. Getting £45m for Di Maria, who left partly because of Van Gaal, doesn't change the fact he spent £60m on him in the first place. And then couldn't use him.

You cannot blame Moyes for Van Gaal not building a squad that is befitting a club like United.

It's not like all the signings have been bad. But they haven't been great either and he's unbalanced the squad and doesn't appear to be able to get any consistent performances out of any of the attackers he's signed because of his shiiiiit, boring and slow philosophy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the thing. He's not bought particularly badly but
- He has left us short in key positions (CB and CF)
- Apart from Blind and Martial, he hasn't really got any of his own signings playing well for him

He's had four windows and you could field a whole team of players he's signed. For only two* really to have worked out so far is not a good record and suggests that another two years and another £200m would be wasted.

*Can't really fault him regarding Shaw. Just unlucky there.

last season in our run of 4-5 games where we secured top 4

Followed by just 1 win in our last 6 including 3 losses. No injury problem there.

Righ so you expected woodwards first decision to have been to dismiss the advice of SAF and SBC, despite the fact so mAny on here have slated him for not consulting the "football people at the club" more?

And I don't recall Many on here moaning about LVGs football when he got the job.

And did Woodward spend the summer chasing Ramos? I recall a couple of bids and lots of rumour. It that's it. Same with fabregas a few seasons earlier.

When Jose comes in I can see as many as 6 slots in the side which need fixing to be a top side..

Ddg
? Smalling ? Shaw
Morgan ?
? ? Martial
?

I think LVG has bought badly.

We had a dire 0-0 draw against west ham (where they deserved to win).

Here was our passively injury hit side that day...

Ddg
Darmian smalling McNair blind
Morgan Bastian
Lingard fellaini mata
Martial

With that bunch of reserves I don't know how we didn't lose 5-0

----------------------------------------------------------------------

thats a terrible team and not one lvg would play if all players were fit

their crime? drawing 0-0 against a decent west ham team

oh dear

I think Darmian will come good and I still have hopes for Mata and Herrera in the attacking midfield berth. Agree with the rest.

Heisenberg, at least 6 of that line up are first teasers under LVG you plank

I think 'passively' may be the most fitting word to describe LVGs work with United. Good work, Robb.

we'd pretty much dropped off after securing top 4 but i agree not good form

we've had decent football at times which people seem to forget

not enough of it admitedly but injures play a part

Think Darmian would still have a future in a Mourinho team. You're probably not far wrong with the rest, though.

8 of that side against west ham are LVG starters when all are fit

Yeah I do, because that's his job.
Everyone knew moyes wasn't good enough, the fact he was 4th of 5th choice proves that.

charlton is a legend, but this isn't the 1970s anymore and things change.

As for Ramos the whole saga went on for months and everyone said at the time that he was using us to get a better contract, and low and behold he signed a new one at real.

blind at left back? no good

mcnair? barely good enough (maybe im being harsh here)

fellaini in midfield? poor but better recently. but still poor

mata - poor all season

lingard - hit and miss

if lvg is still here next season im confident those 5 wont be - or atleast in Blinds case he wont be at lb

Rooney, Young and Shaw are the only notable absentees to what Van Gaal would look to play.

Maybe Carrick but he's been in and out of the side when we've had all our cm's available.

Ok Duncan so he hired moyes, admitted his mistake and sacked him ASAP.

He has since backed LVG to the hilt.

What else has he done wrong? Aside from newspaper gossip
