America and the west would be f*cked if he was elected but, like you say, there is a somewhat guilty pleasure in that happening.
Always wanted to see the four horsemen.

Indeed, he is a dangerous nut job, but due to the horror that is American politics, particularly the Republican side, he's probably preferable to psudo evangelical loony toon Ted Cruz when it comes to their choice for a candidate.
Both have no real values, other than the want to appeal to the apathetic, or disaffected in the US.

I haven't really got the foggiest what trump's policies are (apart from the well publicised let's try and let as few terrorists in as possible) speech.

So, can anyone tell me what sort of things they expect Trump to do if he was to become president and how that impacts the world ?

America has form for electing really stupid presidents so it wouldn't be the biggest shock.

Don't forget he wants to build a $8B USD wall in Mexico. That'll be fun!

And he wants Mexico to pay for it - Deluded!

most of the world is laughing at america or a little bit scared of their potential next "leader of the free world", so what part of Rob's post was lacking in political knowledge?

After the DNC treatment of Bernie Sanders it would be interesting to see ho hillary does v Trump. She is very unpopular amongst independents and voter apathy from left would be quite high.

As much of a nutter as Trump is he is definitely someone who can shift them without really giving a damn unlike the religious nuts in the GOP.

If I were American and it was Hillary v Trump I couldn't vote for either. I would definitely look for a third party candidate.

As for the question regarding Trumps policies, beyond his well publicised outbursts, regarding immigration, I doubt even he knows for sure.
They would probably be cobbled together for the most part by the Iowa based well education neo-con weirdos he has organising his campaign.

The guy is absolutely nuts.

What is our relationship with the US going to be like if he is in charge. It has been debated in our Parliament whether he should be banned from entry. And up here Alex Salmond has been winding him up constantly about putting turbines in the way of his golf courses

Isn't he doing the typical thing of playing on people's fears while at the same time not really saying what he will do in a positive sense.

I'm not really following it much but Bernie seems to be the only person who I would happily vote for (not that I can) but looks more likely to end up being Trump v Hilary which is very depressing.

At least Jeb is out of the running, his tweet the other day was equally terrifying and hilarious.

i wish our leader had plans to limit immigration to the skilled and to rid us of foreign / homegrown terrorism.

You're right, we should ignore anyone from war torn countries who's lives have been completely destroyed and have nothing.

The guy's an idiot. He make George W Bush look intelligent. His latest gaff is telling people to avoid Apple products until they release info on a criminal to the FBI then tweets about it from an Apple device.

How about enlightening us all (in great graphical detail) of your "political knowledge".

If the Orangatang looking one was ever to get in, then it's a case of stocking up on Baked Beans, water and Mars Bars and finding yourself a remote part of the world and hope for the best.

I think Trump would actually appreciate your metaphor to Napoleon about him in the OP Robb.

Trump is deceptivly intelligent. He was a registered democrat until recently, and he hails from new york, where moderate views are the norm.

He just knows how crazy american voters are and he's telling them what they want to hear. I think it's hilarious that everyone takes him so seriously
