Trump is self made son of a billionaire.
He basically inherited his father's company, and money.
He likes to portray himself as a self made man, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Like many of his type, he continually talks of his dislike for governmental regulation and interference in private business, but fails to recall how his father's business was built upon governmental assistance, and how his business was bailed out by the government and banking institutions back in 1990, when his company were in debt to the tune of 8 billion dollars.
I think it's hilarious that everyone takes him so seriously
***
by everyone I take it you mean the US electorate?
I am sure you can appreciate that it isn't quite so hilarious to the rest of the World, that the US electorate do take him so seriously?
somebody should ask him publicly about his numerous deferments from active service, not forgetting his final excuse that, on medical grounds, he had Heel Spurs.Whe last interviewed about them several years ago, he said he only had one Spur and when questioned further, said he could not remember which heel was affected.
Absolute Loon.
His Father started him off in the family business with just over one million and he inherited the whole of the business later. Reportedly, now, his true wealth is £3.3 million dollars.
I need a new wall.Perhaps he would like to pay me to erect it!
Its (yet another) wake up call for our American cousins.
One day the penny will drop for the depraved and radicalised individuals in US society such as Trump and his merry gang or Rednecks who peddle their bile and hatred, as to why some depraved and radicalised individuals from different cultures such as theirs might think about things like flying aircraft into buildings.
Hasn't his wealth actually dropped since he inherited his fortune?
I think he's the best candidate. Most of the sound bites are an act.
US presidents don't actually have real power, the senate and congress can stop just about anything so the risk is small in reality
And id love to see the melt down if he wins
You might see a different Meltdown to the one you are thinking about!
Think he also said if his daughter, wasn't his daughter, hed bang her.

The Donald is honest at least unlike the lifer politicians
If I were American and it was Hillary v Trump I couldn't vote for either. I would definitely look for a third party candidate.

Kaiser
are you really that thick?
Doesn't matter what type of politician your are, any man who looks at his daughter in any way, no matter how second hand, in a sexual way, is a detached, scary, freak, who probably needs putting down.

Kaiser
are you really that thick?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thick how?
He's hamming it up for attention, playing to lowest common denominator fears, and generally playing the media for hundreds of millions in free publicity.
I think people who think he's actually dangerous are thick.
I still think that Hillary will win the Presidency one way or another. After all more people voted for Al Gore than Bush in 2000 and yet Bush was the one who ended up in the White House.
I think he's the best candidate. Most of the sound bites are an act.
-------------
In what respect?
He has no policies, he spreads fear, ignorance, racism, hatred. How can that be the best candidate?
If he gets elected and you have a republican controlled senate and house, then there's serious problems for the country. His and the tea parties views on immigration, health care, taxes, foreign policy will marginalized the us and make the people feel more embattled.
Trumps trying a hostile takeover of the Republican Party and may well succeed due to them having been a leaderless bickering directionless mess for years now. But on an international stage he won't be able to bully his way.
and what if it backfires on him then...and he actually wins?
I think what Kaiser is saying, which in most part I agree with, is that even if Trump was elected, the political establishment, in the form of congress, would continue to rule the roost, and Trump would just be a ludicrous figure head for the most powerful nation on earth.
People talking about Trump having his finger on the nuclear button are thankfully way off the mark.
The wigged one getting into power is a scary prospect. I'd feel uneasy about it. Kind of like that business at CERN when people said we could be creating a black hole, or the date the Mayans said would be the end of the world. Left a slight doubt it your mind, only this would be much more real and believable.
Robb
Policies is not the right word. He does not have any.
Rhetoric is the right word.
All Trump has done in the debates is be abusive to his opponents. He has offerered nothing other than ridiculous rantings on building a wall on the Mexico border that will never happen.

Exactly
Its a tiny risk in reality
From what I've read the republicans are going to lose the senate too
He will win the Republican nomination in my opinion, but only Rubio has the slight chance of unseating him if he can finally rally and consolidate all the establishment votes, while exposing Cruz as a loon and opportunist liar - 2 things Rubio has been doing well recently. Jeb Bush dropping out and imminently Kasich too will only help Rubio further.
Problem with Trump is I can't quite tell if he's serious and the world should be terrified of a loon, or if he's just taking the mick to appeal to the basest elements of American fear and racism. Either way, he has proven himself as a scuumbag and I can't quite understand how people have all lost their minds. How can anyone look at the guy's antics and not see a total joker?

thanks for clearing that up. Its pretty useful to have you on here with your well briefed level of inside information of US State and military affairs.
One other thing is you have to put it in context of winning the party nomination.
Candidates are more extreme to win the party nomination, then swing to the middle for the real election.
