I think neil lennon would be the perfect replacement for dopey doug
I have a lot of sympathy for DF as he was set up to fail really. Everything conspired against him but the players gave up far too easily yesterday. The minimum requirement of any team is to at least compete. The meek surrender in the second half spoke volumes.
I have no love of Fawaz as you know. It is entirely his fault that the club is in the situation it is. I am worried about how the season could pan out from here on in. If this saves Forest from a potentially disastrous relegation battle then the ends may justify the means. It is harsh but the club is bigger than any one person.

I'd rather have Lofty the Lion!
Pearson is the obvious sort of realistic choice which most fans would want.
However knowing Fawaz he will do something which will cause uproar, like appointing Petrescu.
I would rather take the risk with appointing Billy a third time instead of appointing Petrescu.

"If a manager sacked a manager he employed then he should go as well"....
Never a truer word spoken by the great man.
Here's hoping!
Good job Colin is at Rotherham or we would be. Clambering after him, small consolation, how about Karanka, then he really would see what a set of losers really look like
I think I would like to see someone from the lower leagues given a chance or Robinson from Franchise FC.
Will, tbh who in their right mind would take this poisoned chalice of a job, Fawaz had may as well pick the team as he isn't going to trust anyone else. Unfortunately until Fawaz does depart we will continue lurching from one crisis to the next, and not of it will be his fault of course.
As if Pearson is going to take the job. It'll be Nigel Clough or some random from abroad. SBD is gagging for it to be Billy!
Right now I feel like that is the end for me too. Until now I have supported Fawaz because I believe he was a fan of the club, but I feel like I've had enough. If we had a home game on Tuesday I don't think I could be bothered to go.
No decent manager will touch us.
Pearson will probably be favourite.
Good luck Fawaz and the team but I feel the club is in terminal decline. The attendance at the next home game will tell you how the fans feel
Pearson would sort this rabble out
My point was to show the madness of appointing Petrescu.
Out of realistic choices my first would be Pearson.
The dream is O'Neil but it will never happen.
It doesn't matter which no-mark manager he brings in, the club is in terminal decline.
I think the Charlton lads have the right idea, disrupt the games until the owner is forced to sell out of embarrassment.
If this incompetent clown is still in charge in 5 years time we will be battling to stay in the Conference.
Sad news all round. Pearson would be best choice by far and I hope he gets the job bit it's unlikely he would last 5 mins working for Fawaz. Plus he won't go anywhere without Walsh and Shakespeare because he's unlikely to succeed without them. They cost £1m each and Fulham couldn't afford them.
Sad state for a great club, I'm sure Strett will try and put his positive spin on things shortly!
By the way, why does Rev keep leaving the site and then coming back under different usernames? This time it's Forestbootboy. Weird
Tend to agree with you Pete. The new manager will have about 30 games to have secured a playoff place or he will be gone.
It's all very sad; but at least I have some great memories. More than some of the younger supporters can say.
I know SBD, was just pulling your leg!
BS, don't out him! Do you really think Pearson would even take the job? Even if Fawaz was prepared to pay for his back room staff?
Spent a few hours off grid in the garden, and come back in to all this!
Ridiculous!
Caniggia - it's an odd one, a few months ago I'd have said no but to be honest Pearson has been out of a job far longer than he imagined he would be according to a recent interview. Hes in a different place now and getting desperate to get back into football.
I think he would like the job, but assuming Walsh and Shakespeare leave Leicester for Forest, I can only see it ending in tears because Pearson would want complete control which he's unlikely to get. On that basis he will probably target Middlesborough
Never go off grid again sph, it goes crazy without you to hold it all together
