Kante scores for France

Ooops missed this bit....

"With a mixture of tenacity off the ball & finesse on it, Amartey’s passing ablity stands out very easily, able to supply passes between the lines from deep positions & also build up play with short passes, while not being fazed in pressure situations from opposition players. Coupled with good aerial ablity & intelligent football IQ on the pitch, this has attributed Amartey slotting into multiple positions."

Dele Alli is 19 and had no experience until this season and he's slotted in no problem so to suggest that Amartey can't is a bit baffling?

BS / SD or whatever the f*ck you are called this week 😉

Quite right Amartey was not bought as a replacement for Kante, he will be integrated into the defence in pre-season rather than midfield.

IF Kante does move then we will sign a replacement for sure, maybe Jordan Henderson 😂😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's not a central defender, he started there but was moved to midfield and that's where he was playing for Copenhagen. Centre half is a position he can play but he's a central midfielder, read his scout report 👍

Midfielder/Defensive midfielder!!!

Arro

I know all about his scout report thanks.

But I am just passing on an informed opinion about his future plans within the team.

posted on 30/3/16

Well given all of his attributes it would seem that he's going to be completely wasted at centre back and he won't be replacing Morgan or Huth anytime soon that's a certainty. Morgan is our captain so he won't replace him and he plays every game. He won't replace Huth next season. Not a chance.

Where did you hear that then?

posted on 30/3/16

The likelihood is if he was signed as central defender which just seems ludicrous to me, with Kante not at the club it would make sense for him to play there instead. He has everything required to replace Kante.

"He's a great player and is Ghana's favourite and Ghanaians are supporting Leiceter because of him."

--------

I'm disappointed. You'd have thought the John Pantsil connection would be enough.

Ha ha the clue was in the surname, pants 😂

From within the club Arro, and I think you will find that part of the plan for progression is to look at Central Defenders that have more pace than we currently have AND that are more comfortable on the ball.

Both Morgan and Huth have several years left yet, they're only 31/32 and can play until at least 34 so he's going to be wasted on the bench for a long while.

Well he is comfortable on the ball, that's one of his major assets.

Was his scouting report written by a family member or something? It sounds like he should have been snapped up by Barcelona already.

I know he is, that's why we scouted him and bought him. He ticks the boxes as the team moves forward so fully expect to see him play a big part next season.

So he's fast and very good in the ball yet he's not what we're looking for as we search for a midfielder with more pace and passing ability? Do you not agree that it seems ridiculous to waste those attributes? A 21 year old surely hasn't been signed as a centre half

We could sign a proper centre half, one without all the atrributes to replace Kante. He's a perfect replacement in my opinion and playing him anywhere but in the middle just seems crazy.

Arro

I didn't say he wasn't what we are looking for, I am just giving you the arguments for his role as Huths replacement rather than Kante's replacement.

He is strong, composed, good on the ball, good in the air, pacy.......... All attributes that can be utilised in either Midfield or Defence.
And I for one fully support wherever our club decides to play him.

You say that Huth has 2-3 years left yet but he has been caught out a few times this season AND his style is not conducive to playing European football as he will more than likely get caught out more often by opposition forwards and his style coupled with European referees mean he will be a red card waiting to happen.
Therefore the plan was to look at a different type of CB and Amartey was the one they scouted and plumped for. A plus was that he is flexible with his positional play also.

It was his 25th birthday yesterday.

It was also Payet's birthday I think.

What are the chances of that happening?
