He should take Rooney, Kane, Vardee and Rashford
'going to that world cup had no effect on him one way or the other, neither positive or negative'.
=====================================
Ok I would venture a guess that it did have a positive effect on him, it certainly didnt have the negative one you suggested
Whilst its not the most beneficial thing hes ever done Im sure he enjoyed being amongst the older players and training. Not that it made him a better player however.
I like Welbeck from the left inside forwardy type position though.

hey Wahl babe
And to be honest, if Roy takes 5 strikers in a squad of 25 he needs shooting.
============================
not really.
3 keepers
8 defenders
9 midfeilders
5 strikers.
very reasonable.
Pretty sure the squad is 23 no?
If England play 4-3-3 they def need 5 strikers.
3 GK
7 def
8 MF
5 strikers
It did no favours to Walcott what so ever when Arsene conned Sven into taking him well before he was good enough."
That would suggest it had a detrimental effect, when in fact it probably did the opposite.
Vardy
Kane
Sturridge
Welbeck (he does exactly the job needed for England and has a good scoring record for Roy)
Rooney - he's going whatever happens
To be honest, even if Rooney was dropped and England wanted 5 strikers i'd take Carroll as he's a very good plan B.
Can't see Rashford being anything different off the bench than Sturridge
ROONEY SHOULD BE NOWHERE NEAR THE SQUAD

Stirrings and possibly welbeck would have to be considered for their experience
what benefit does rashford going have for his ut career?
1)he goes and is a success, this could see him built up as the media love to do just so they can tear him down
2)he goes and does sweet f'all, see walcott
i would rather he stays, stays hungry at utd with hopes of maybe gate crashing the 2018 party.

Yeah, I'd take Sterling but I was talking only strikers. Welbeck's a possibility but I just feel Rashford would be more likely to score a goal off the bench for example then Welbeck who barely ever scores.

I actually typed sturridge bloody phone
You have to go with experience also and as brilliant a season vardee has had he is inexperienced at international football. As such its another reason not to also bring rashford
Welbecks game isn't just about scoring. It's about the high press and also how he protects the full backs.
As good as Rashford has been he hasn't demonstrated he can do that.
Whether we agree with it or not, if the following players are fit, Roy will be taking them to the Euros.
Rooney, Sturridge, Kane, Welbeck and Vardy. I was wrong on my comment on 5 strikers. Forgot about Sturridge.

Sturridge is a good one actually, I think it would be between him and Rashford for the 4th striker position in the squad. I think they're around the same level tbh so I don't think it matters too much which you bring, but it may be better to bring Rashford to give him some experience of a big international tournament.

I don't think it's enough though is it? All Welbeck offers is that energy. He doesn't score, he isn't talented on the ball etc. Germany/Spain wouldn't use a player like him.

He does score though. 14 goals in 34 games for England. 4 goals in just a handful of starts for Arsenal this season and more importantly know what is asked of him by Roy
I don't think Welbeck's a reliable goalscorer though. Like if we needed a goal, I feel Rashford would be more likely to score than Welbeck.
