4500 calories a day is 4 large big mac meals, feck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly....! 4000 is 3 x Big Mac Burgers over the RDA ffs.

Above was to Stretty saying 4k calories isn't a large amount, despite it being 1500 more than the RDA.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
RDA doesn't take lifestyle into consideration does it?

But now you are contradicting yourself... I thought exercise and calories were not related?
For those of you who like wagamamas and have tried a katsu curry, that's 1200 right there. Could you eat four of those in a day? I could.

You'd be surprised at how much people do walk. Going to the loo, the photocopier, on lunch, to their cars etcZ
All adds up.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
maybe if the loo is in another building and you oark you car 2 mikes away
Yes, I could - but I would put weight on!

Stretty, this is a pretty good indication of what you should be eating to maintain weight.
You have the option to select your weekly exercise.

To be fair, the average person in an office probably doesn't do that in a week, me included
Just getting back to cycling after 20+ years and have only recently got up to 5 miles per day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm doing a 5 mile run from home after work every because my car is in the garage atm, it's killing me lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you out of shape?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am. I'm 5'7" & 84Kg (13st).
I sit on my arris all day, hence the desire to get back on the bike.
20+ years ago I used to cycle 30+ miles per day.
Now though, being 50+ and having suffered a stroke a couple of years ago, I'm aiming for maybe 15-20 miles per day.
