You realise 10,000 steps is about a 5 mile walk?

The average person in an office does not do that a day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair, the average person in an office probably doesn't do that in a week, me included

Just getting back to cycling after 20+ years and have only recently got up to 5 miles per day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm doing a 5 mile run from home after work every because my car is in the garage atm, it's killing me lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you out of shape?

If you are 25 years old, 7 foot and weight 250 lbs, you will need to eat 4200 calories a day to maintain weight whilst exercising 3 times a week.

Stretty must be one brick house
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not 7ft.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't think you got my point.

Stretty, cardio wise yes, that's why I'm running now. I've been hitting the gym trying to get some muscle which worked, and has directly affected my cardio capability.

Done the run 4 times and it's getting easy each time. My lack of an inhaler doesn't help

could find 10000 more articles against this

So if i was looking to bulk up from 110kfg to 120kg calories would have no effect on me adding 10kg of weight? Absolute shlte
=========================

it would, but it wouldnt be muscle, mainly water weight and fat.

posted on 19/4/16

yeah, without training it would. If you consume extra and do resistance workouts you will build muscle bulk.

Stretty, calories in vs out is very much a thing.

However your metabolic rate directly affects your calories out, so maybe you could enlighten us how you manage to eat 4500 calories a day and not gain weight?

Tell us then

Height? Weight? Times exercising per week? I find it hard to believe someone who's into their training as much as you wouldn't know any of this

Height 5'11

weight - dont know. not really bothered. I judge on my physique.

6 times a week. 7 if im not drinking on the weekend.

So you are saying if I eat less calories than I burn, i will not lose weight?

Or if I eat more than I burn, I will not gain weight?

posted on 19/4/16

Not if your caloric surplus is not to high and your macros are worked out
=====================================

I guarantee someone eating lesser calories will build the same muscle mass as someone on a high calorie diet. You can build 2 or 3 pounds of muscle a month max.

anythign else is water and fat.

were tlaking for building muscle.

Absolute bolllox Stretty. If you want to build more muscle consume more fats and proteins which contribute to muscle growth. You haven't got a clue

posted on 19/4/16

Stretty is also saying you can bulk up with substantially pure lean muscle whilst keeping his caloric intake low
====================================

As I say, look into scott alexander, get back to me.

Trains 7 days a week, consumes 3000 calories, burns as many calories as a 7' tall 250lb man and is immune to gaining weight

Your body can only process so much protein in one day.
