I dont understand what the problem is with Levy not agreeing to Luka's move away (but here is my tuppence worth) :-

Firstly, the Gentlemans agreement (if it existed) - everyone seems to be commenting on the semantics of it, does anyone have a recorded copy of it, or are we just speculating on what may or may not have been said based on Modrics understanding of it?

Secondly, If Levy made a comment on it, then he must have considered it, the fact he considered that Modric would not be sold to Chelsea regardless of what their financial compensation was, does not mean he didnt consider it, it just isnt the answer Chelsea wanted to hear.

Thirdly, Levy did well to stand up to the player and Chelsea by honouring a contract that both sides willingly agreed on, had it been the other way round and he dispatched of Modrics services without compensating him satisfactorily, then i would understand the critisism of him.

Hero? He isnt serving in Afghanistan, or saving puppies from burning buildings
Honourable? Definitely

Now let's talk about the exploits of Roman Abromivich(sp?)and see how that stacks up against an alledged breach of verbal contract.

Ok lets and while your at it let´s see evidence to back up your claims if you´re so knowledgable about Abramovich.

Go on then mate, you do what news international and various other hack groups have tried, incriminate the guy.
And none of the old "You can deny it if you want, but you know the truth" nonsense, print fact backed up with link which cannot be disproven, not the 17 which have appeared in the press and were all systematically shredded, leaving their authors with a 6 figure settlement, which RA immediately donated to charity, new documented evidence of wrongdoing.

Oh yes, be carefull, because if you are correct, you may wake up with a horses head in your bed (Posters below a certain age will not get that refference)

Honourable ??!!

He completely went back on his word to Modric.

There is no honour in that.

G&S quite good, but if you sift through its conjecture and complaint, donrt sell your shares if you think the buyers offer is not good enough,.

Galvin&Stacey >

You´ll have to do better than copying and pasting an article filled with the words "alleged" and "allegation" in it.

If you worried about criminality, corruption and bribery I´d take a closer look at your own government.

Hey don´t take my word for it. Take Modric´s word for it:

Modric said:

"I reminded the chairman of our gentleman's agreement when we were in Dubrovnik last summer and I agreed a contract extension with Tottenham. Then I had an open chat with Levy – that if a bigger club came in with a concrete offer, we would consider it and agree the best solution for all concerned".

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jul/10/luka-modric-daniel-levy-spurs

Levy has yet to issue a statement contradicting what Modric said so let´s assume that what Modric said is correct.

Unless you´re calling Modric a liar ?

By the way next time don´t claim to have won the argument just because I had to go and do other things.
