Not read any comments for a few hours, good to see its still open. Won't e able to police it as thoroughly as it may need.

We are not governed by Europe now, we will never be governed by Europe.

what isn't happening?

A British PM cannot decide what happens in Britain without getting it approved by the EU, that is the requirement of being in a union the reform proposal and outcome was proof of this

EU law is supreme over UK law, i'm afraid we are its only a matter of degree.what we know is that the EU is taking more and more powers to the center.

Because when invited to supporting your statement, you just start calling people trolls and moaning about being picked on. And now calling people maniacs.

Tell me exactly how this country is currently governed by the EU. I won't a discussion, clearly you have an insight that I do not. Tell me.

The way I see it, the world is not going to end if we leave.

I see it as a simple democratic choice.

Either be part of an organisation that is committed to unifying Europe politically, as it has been doing since the days of the simple Common Market, or opt out and vote in your own government and lawmakers

Yes, since 1972. But that does not mean the same thing as "we are governed by the EU" - it's nonsense.

Because when invited to supporting your statement,**

you're missing the point, you're not chairing any debate here and I don't need to support a statement of 'out' sorry I turned the invitation down

That paragraph was for you.

I haven't read back yet, but I'm sure you'll be holding your own.

I'll be reading it when I'm back from the pub.

Is Brexit a striker or a full-back?
Arsenal could use one of each.

It wasn't me doing the inviting, no-one's trying to 'chair' anything - just trying to debate. It's the point of the site. As you noted, most people in the thread were saying 'in' - you said 'out', and yet seem surprised when people ask you why. As I said, it's kind of the whole point of the site.

OUT

The EU keep telling us what to do and our net contribution is too high. When I was driving earlier there was a news story on the radio about the "think tank" which said our salaries COULD be £36 per week worse off by 2030 if we leave. If £36 per week in 14 years time is the worse case published by a Bremain supporting group using only sources they choose can come up with it doesnt seem that big a risk to me.

I dont like the EU overruing our laws as well.

Add immigration to that including huge numbers of Europeans who come here and immigrants from other countries who are declined entry to the UK, go somewhere else in Europe for a couple of years and get citizenship, then they move here. (I used to work with a Libyan who did this and says its quite common).
