What this thread and the general in/out debate has shown is that this has stopped being a general debate about the benefits or otherwise of remaining in the EU.
The out campaign don't even bother trying to genuinely counter the economic arguments, they just parrot "scaremongering", without any reasoning about why for instance the IMF would be doing that.
No, it's pure and simple down to immigration and the fact some British people are frightened of outsiders coming to this country. Not because they cost the country money or take jobs, the economic benefits clearly outweigh the costs.
No it's about fear, fear of change, fear that "thier" Britain is changing.
And that is ridiculous, this country is made up of wave upon wave of immigration.
Are you from the north of Scotland? If so you may possibly have some degree of genetic inheritance from the first humans that came here. Everyone else is a mongrel mixing of Celts, Vikings, Anglo-saxon, Norman and so on.
The ethnic make up and culture of Britain has changed continually and will carry on doing so. Being afraid of this change and wanting to set in aspic the exact why we are now is ostrich behaviour, it's cowardly, stupid and simply pathetic.

"Traditional party ideologies are completely transcended by the referendum"
Totally agree, unfortunately you get small minded racist bigotry throughout society.

I'm working class and also in
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Me too.
I would suspect that most on these boards are from a working class background although some would not like to admit it.
My family are also working class and we're all IN
Glenghis, Rui, Sizzle, Arab:
How do each of you define Working Class?
Our background, the area we reside in, the occupation of my father etc
actually I think we might be more middle class
I'm working class and out.
I watched the video yesterday in my Mam's garden.
I said to her "I bet you're in aren't you?" (she's voted labour all her life)
"Actually I'm undecided" she said.
Let's watch this then I said as we basked in the sun.
It was a link to the video I posted a few pages back.
Anyway she's now convinced to vote out.
I told her to watch a Bremain video but she's pretty adamant.
I walked away full-stomached, a good few glasses of wine deep and had recruited a Brexit voter
I'm 75% out as we stand today.
Most of my family do manual jobs/trades. We live in a middle class area but I wouldn't call us that.
Inter-board posting anf JA Brexit vote
