I can see other EU countries doing referendums for sure, starting with the Greeks

Typical UK. Always the innovators.

Can you see the reflection of the Channel 4 presenter in the mirror?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That mirror makes her arm look really really long when she sticks her hand up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You'd think with that size arm, she'd get picked by Nicola to have one of her questions answered. No such luck so far.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Very discriminatory

Now I know the Italian & French ones are very right wing. Interestingly the Dutch guy is favourite to become their Prime Minister next March.

No chance that any country in the Eurozone will get any referendum.

So nobody was told about a possible recession? Have a word.

---------
not by the leave brigade.

They just labelled the mention of a recession project fear and ignored the possibility- you know, how they advised everyone to ignore experts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Are we in a recession then?

Has it been 6mths already since the referendum? It feels like 6hrs

---------------
What has 6 months got to do with the possibility of a recession?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because we are not in a recession. 2 quarters time, then you can bang that drum.....or not

----------------
again, the leave campaign never mentioned the possibility of recession, when they should have.

The possibility was always there.

Donald Tusk, President of the European Council

"This is not a moment for hysterical reactions. Today on behalf of the 27 leaders I can say that we are determined to keep our unity as 27.

"Until the UK formally leaves the EU, EU law will continue to apply to and within the UK, and by this I mean rights, as well as obligations.

"The past years have been the most difficult ones in the history of our union, but my father used to tell me: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament

""Now is the time for us to behave seriously and responsibly. We have our responsibilities for the future of the EU. You can see what is happening to sterling on the markets. I don't want the same thing to happen to the euro. "
Geert Wilders, Dutch Freedom Party leader

"Hurrah for the British! Now it is our turn. Time for a Dutch referendum!"

Marine Le Pen, leader of the far-right Front National in France

"Victory for freedom! As I have been asking for years, now we need to have the same referendum in France and in the countries of the EU."
Matteo Salvini, leader of Italy's anti-immigration Northern League

"Hurrah for the courage of free citizens! Heart, brain and pride defeated lies, threats and blackmail.

"THANK YOU UK, now it's our turn."
Jimmie Akesson, leader of the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats party

"The most important thing for Sweden's Prime Minister should be Sweden's best, not the EU's best. Even Swedish people should have the opportunity to have their say on future EU membership in a referendum."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The type of people congratulating us worries me. 'Anti-immigration', 'far-right front'. Same people who support and are friends with Austria's fascist party and co.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was going to say that too, the rise of the far right parties in Europe are gradually starting to rise.

This referendum is only the beginning, and the major parties had been sitting on their backside doing nothing. I could bet you a high percentage of the leave voters are all fed up of Cameron and the Tories.

The Remain campaign never mentioned we may actually thrive outside.

It tends to be what happens in a campaign.

That is unfortunately one of the side effects, but the rise of these groups has been evident for the past 10 years & no one took any notice, did they?

Which is why it was so idiotic for some leaders to block Cameron's attempt to get a suspension of freedom of movement for a few years to the UK. Thats what is causing the rise fascism in the EU.

So a few hours in and markets in turmoil - doesn't bode well for the future, and we haven't actually left yet - just signalled an intention to.

Corbyn wanted out, that is why he barely made any attempt to persuade labour voters to vote remain apart from lip-service
