There's a film on Netflix called Cockneys vs Zombies.
Mournho poor away record vs Mazzari continues.
Mourinho needs to drop Rooney.
He was awful as for Pogba - he is playing out of position.
Apart from dropping Rooney, I think a more cohesive midfield requires starting either Pogba OR Fellaini, not both.
Dropping a player who is on £300k a week is unthinkable. What would the sponsors say ?
United ought to have done what Madrid did with Raúl the same year Mourinho moved in there: reach an agreement to pay off the remainder (or a large chunk) of his remaining contract and move him on.
Madrid could only have done that with Mourinho's acquiescence. If United haven't done it, it can only be because Mourinho didn't lay that condition down, so from where I stand he's just as responsible as the club for the current situation.
Don't forget that Jose nearly signed him whe he was at Chelsea. He probably still thinks Rooney is a good player.
For get the best out of Pogba you need to play him in a 433 formation/3 man midfield. At Juve he was paired with Pirlo and Vidal, and now he has the brilliant Fellaini to build a world dominating partnership with in a 4231 set up.

Daz,
The last 2 games they have been v poor.
Before that they've played some decent footy to be honest

ioag, I agree with your post. Though surprisingly I'd say Rooney has more influence at United than Raul did at that point.
I just cannot understand the Rooney situation at United. Even his most staunch defenders have now accepted how bad he's become. Yet he's still untouchable when it comes to the team sheet.
I said back in 2010, even when he was banging in the goals, that his decline in his all round game will come to hinder us as a team. I can't believe seven years later he's still in the team for this to become blindingly obvious.
It really is a shambles.

Raúl was about 3 years older, tbf. He wasn't a dead cert starter, and he'd probably lost some of his dressing room influence to the younger long-timers (e.g. Casillas), but the wages were still sky high.
Biggest shame of all was that towards the end of his time, some fans had taken to referring to him with disparaging, insulting nicknames. Sickening to see someone who's 'one of your own' and contributed to so much success to be treated like that by a herd of village idiots.
Think Rooney would be better off leaving while there's still some respect left for him than by the time all those morons have taken to calling him Pooney or something equally stupid.
Yeah you forget Rooney is a scouser, though.
He should have left years ago. The problem is he doesn't want to and is on a fat contract that runs until 2019. No club in Europe is going to pay him close to what he's currently on. He won't go to China or the Middle East so the US is probably the only realistic destination for him, but they don't really pay transfer fees for players of that standing.
I think he's actually deluded enough to think he can play at the standard needed at United until he retires. He's already made noises about this and a new contract.

He'll be the top boy at Miami Beckham United.

Rooney's got Man United and the FA in his back pocket.
I don't care, it's a better idea than him running around whatever the weather in a Man United shirt.

Yeah, well they both have skeletons in their closets - Raúl was a boyhood colchonero remember...?
Anyhow, yeah fat wages was what Raúl was on too, and he also thought he could stay and fight for his place. In footballer speak this basically means "I'm not taking a wage cut."
So Madrid offered to pay out his contract (or most of it at any rate) and allow him to leave on a free for wherever he could find himself another nice wedge of money. He still did ok at Schalke for a couple of years to increase his CL tally, and then went off to pocket a few more mill in the Gulf and the U.S.
Throw Rooney 15M or 20M and a free transfer and you'll see how all of a sudden he's always been fascinated by Chinese culture.
It could take us about £30m to pay off his contract, though. He's rumoured to be earning about £300k a week. Not sure if the club are prepared to do that.
Nah Rooney will never go to China. He's too English. He's lived in the north west his entire life, I've heard he's never really wanted to move to play abroad because of this. The US is the only country abroad I can see him moving to.
I think he'd love to go back to Everton. Not sure they'd want him, though.
20M plus whatever he can raise for two seasons elsewhere, and off he goes. I'd be hugely surprised if it wasn't the case. I'm sure there'd be plenty of clubs willing to pay him in excess of 6-7M a year in order to land a name like Rooney's to raise their profile.
...and Raúl had never lived outside Madrid either before he packed his bags for Germany...
