I know what'll settle this. This club that's finished 2nd or above in the last 50 years wins.

One one article I see sandy talking about Spurs getting to a European Cup semi final and talking about history. On this article he talks about how Liverpool never finish above Spurs, despite us doing it three years ago (and every season for about three decades before that).

That's why I love him though.

If Spurs have more than surpassed and all that jazz where exactly are the medals?

We've even taken your net spend trophy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why does medals mean we have or haven't surpassed you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because no one cares if Poch throws all the cups to glean a distinctly average 70 points and he won't be able to do that this year anyway.

Liverpool won more games of football last season.

What exactly do Spurs have to show in the past five seasons that Liverpool do not? Nothing is the answer.

?

so its not fair to say that Bournemouth have surpassed aston villa as a football team because they haven't got any medlas to show for it?

what a ridiculous argument.

the measure of the quality of a team is league finish no? that's the fairest way. usually better team will come ahead of an inferior team

Liverpool is the inferior team looking at recent league finishes

don't mean to upset you sensitive little scousers, you are still the bigger club

That doesn't mean we haven't surpassed you though.

Burnley have surprassed Nottingham Forrest despite a lack of trophies for either.

I don't rate Walker so that doesn't really concern me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's your loss really.

Few RB's as deadly on the counter (both creating and being an extra body), few get up and down the pitch as much, his 1 on 1 defending is exceptional these days, as is his arial presence. His passing is occasionally sloppy but hes the best RB in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
robbing hoody looks to just be on the wum on this article, but this comment cracked me up. Walker is terrible on the counter, he is great at getting there but ultimately his final ball or shot is woeful and many spurs fans lose the plot with him in this regard, as for 1 on 1, you say he's exceptional? wtf. AND THE BEST RB IN THE LEAGUE BAHAHA

=======================

No I don't think it is. You do because it suits your argument of achieving mediocrity.

Liverpool won more games of football last season. We've won more trophies. Even AVB got more points.

Just because other teams faltered last season giving Spurs a higher league placing than normal for 70 points doesn't make them some world beaters.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's not a fair parallel.

Who won more games of football last season?
Who has won more trophies recently?
Who has had the highest achievements in the past five years?

Now the answer to all of those is Liverpool FC but if you think it Spurs I'm okay with that.

so if the league isn't the way to decide which teams are better than which other teams, then what is the point of it?

that's what a league does... it ranks things

posted on 25/8/16

You're looking at it myopically from one competitions point of view.

think its time for you to call it a day hoody

I am fully aware that there are also cup competitions, but the beauty of a cup is you don't have to be the best team in it to win it... luck of the draw, one off games etc etc.

its how spurs have managed to win a good fair few trophies despite only being the best team in the land twice ever...

however, back to the current day and the relevance of the league, whether you like it or not, the league system is a ranking of the teams over 38 games, and recent results suggest that spurs are pretty far ahead of Liverpool.

Spurs are probably further ahead in their development, but will never be ahead in their own city never mind the European stage

A few would mean more than two and Spurs haven't won a major trophy in decades.

As said Poch throws the cups to concentrate on getting less points than AVB, which is fine, but considering proper teams actually have a go puts them at a disadvantage in the league. One that as clubs they are happy to accept of course because they're ambitious but it doesn't alter the fact.

Anyway Poch won't be able to throw the CL this season due to the money involved so we'll see what your lot are made of then.

you are entering into the maf "no major finals this millennium " territory here now.

have to laugh at the scousers. so gobby all pre season and then reality hit home when they couldn't score past burnley

No I'm entering into the "what have Spurs actually achieved in your lifetime" arena.

Although you write and argue like a child I suspect you're just immature so I put you at 30ish.

So one FA Cup. Congrats! We travel in Spurs' wake.
