We are in a position to dictate things but expecting a draw now
habeeb reminds me a bit of john crawley.
expect him to have a better test career though
Crawley was a leg sided batsmen..Hameed looks to play a lot straighter!..
I think Hameed will get more runs then the likes of Hales.. Because hales foot movement aint great..he gets caught on the crease and looks a bowled candidate..
Yes, fair point about Crawley being leg sided. It was more nuances with his stance.
Having thought about it further, I think it's Gooch.
Mind was playing tricks due to the body shapes I think.
His stand to the medium pacers is very Gooch like.
Big stride very Gooch like.
Back foot game not very goochlike admitedly.
Think he's modelled aspects of his game on him though.
6 centuries so far...record in a match is 8
Game on? I think we have a score in mind of 350.
Cook has broken more records today. Very underrated compared to other players
At least we have played Ashwin well
Cook is a class act a as batsman.Never doubted that.
49 overs to get 10 wickets..no chance..But you ever know!.
Naa...not on this strip...unless the Indians get very jittery
I would go for Rashid with the new ball. I wouldn't go for Ansari at all. Rashid/Woakes and Rashid.with a little bit of Broad..
What a fecking mess the other threads are. You get what you pay for with the usual clowns.
Cook will end up well over 11,000 runs after this series.
He's got a fighting chance of being the top run scorer in tests.
Presumably we'll see more bowling wickets in this series....this must be a bit of a one off pitch here
India won't like this match at all. They've been on the back foot all along so we'll definitely see more spinning wickets as the series develops. Ashwin looks far less the best bowler in the world on an unhelpful pitch.
Like how England have gone about this. Showed intent to set something up. Still looking like a draw.
Ashwin struggles against half decent opposition.
I think we'd have taken a draw in the opener...
Was pointless allowing them to bat again. Gambir is always a walking wicket against decent seamers.
Should have kept them in the field. Given Duckett much needed time against spin and tired the Indian bowlers.
Ashwin and Jade once again prove they can't hack it on a flat track. Best bowler in the world
Yasir and Herath easily ahead of these two.
Oops. Pujara should have reviewed!
Good session although that broad catch should have been taken. England have a sniff
These part time and poor English spinners aren't all that bad are they? Probably learning well from ashwin
No chance of winning unless we get Kohli, he's looking excellent.
I'm surprised at the way India are playing spin. Moral victory for us if not outright win
