is it just me - haye looked like he ballooned himself in 1 day and half.
Friday lunch time he was looking aboslutely ripped on the scales but on fite night he looked a bit ballooned up.
As for Haye - if he went to the usa - he shud have worked with seth rollins - redesign, rebuild & reclaim
i hope that defeat for haye doesnt mean his trainer shane mcguigan is starting to get found out.
There was a lot of talk about bellews trainer dave coldwell and he recieved a barrage of abuse but he was under so much pressure considering his 2 defeats inthe last month with price & mcdonnell.

Yup he did a bit. If there was one criticism you could level at Haye then it's that he went in there heavier than he needed to be. Then again he's trying to establish himself as a fully fledged heavyweight in an era of superheavyweights so I'm guessing that was the thinking.
I doubt the extra weight would have helped him much either if he was going into the fight with a preexisting achilles injury

Haye looked sluggish to me and I think he definitely underestimated Bellew. I had him 4-1 up after 5 rounds and his pot shots were winning him the fight until he got injured.
----------------------------------------------
Bellew was offering virtually nothing up until Haye's achilles went. Would have been been a comfortable points win for Haye if he didn't get the KO.
Not sure what the future holds for Haye though. Fully fit and not ring rusty I still fancy him to at least compete against any Heavyweight in the world. Problem for him is that he never seems able to be that anymore.
Shame as with Fury also out of the picture the supposed recovery of the Heavyweight division looks to be overstated at this stage. It's still a division on life support.

He could possibly have one more retirement fight against some one like Whyte or Briggs but the big heavyweight fights have left the station, never to return in my opinion.
----------------------------------------------
Yup with his injury record it's difficult to see how he'll get any really big fights now. Unless he can string a couple of good wins together against the likes of Whyte, Briggs, Chisora etc but he's become so injury prone in his 30's that it's difficult to see even that happening now.
He's not and never will be a natural Heavyweight though, not in this superheavyweight era anyway and all his injury problems seem to have begun ever since he decided to step up from cruiser, which is telling.

Such as ? If you don't like him then fair enough but he trained well for the fight. Lots of fighters train in Miami. Paulie trained in Miami as well. The Greatest himself Ali trained in Miami sometimes.
As for the fight Haye was winning it comfortably up until the achilles went. It wasn't his fault that his body let him down yet again.
How bad is the heavyweight boxing scene in the UK right now when an utter POS like Derek Chisora is relevant?
Haye looked slow, cumbersome and lacked timing
His days in boxing are over.
If he fights again it will be simply looking for his big shot all the time ala last night

Apparently Bellew broke his hand in the 2nd round. Could explain why he was reluctant to throw more punches.
Looking at what some people are saying it looks like Haye's achilles injury was sustained in training before the fight even happened.
It explains a lot such as Haye flying to Germany to see a specialist, his very slow ring walk, his weird low stance in the early rounds, as well as trying to hayemaker Bellew without setting anything up beforehand.
If so Haye knew there was no way he could pull out of the fight, he'd never get another professional fight again if he had based on his history.

Agree either everything you said there superb
Have to give credit to Bellew though he got the win
Haye couldn't pull out. It's like the boy who cried wolf to be honest. He just had to go through with it..

I wouldn't be sure, just going off Bellew's comments - I haven't seen any pictures.
It could go some way to explaining his attitude for those rounds Haye was walking.

Definitely agree. There's no chance he can compete with the super heavies.
